New Zealand??

I am facing a situation where I may be moving to New Zealand... Has anyone been there? What did you think of it if you have been? Is there and decent riding there? Where would you suggest I live when I get there (keeping in mind I like the climate of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho)?

Any help is great thanks,

CB

I worked with a gal from NZ. when I lived in West.. she frikin' loves it!
Says the majority of americans would probably bail on the U.S. if they lived there for any length of time..

Got a brother that's been on maui 20+ yrs. took a 3 wk. trip to NZ with second wife.said he just loved the place and should have just stayed, people there where the most hospitable that he'd ever seen.folks were wanting them to stay with them anywhere they traveled. they do have snow and sledding in the higher elevations.

I liked it there. I was there for 3 weeks, nice time, good people. Winter sounded like it may be short there compared to our 6 mnths. Lots of extreme activies tho, river boats, scuba, mnt biking, ralle road races etc. One of my favorite places I have been and only one of two places I would go back to visit again. Are you heading to the North or South island? Another note, I thought the teens and kids in general have alot more respect for adults than kids in North america by far

thanks

Oh yea I know there are no snakes there and that was one of the considerations when I was lookin at the area. We will be on the South island, hopefully in the southern part if at all possible. I appreciate the input and it sounds like it might not be a bad choice

Spent a month in NZ touring with a rugby team - frickin awesome place. So many things to do if you like outdoors. The fly fishing is un-fuggin-believable. Spelunking, scuba, white water rafting, speed boats, ocean fishing, road rallying, etc, etc, etc. and South Island has a whole bunch of snow - called the Southern Alps, snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding. Would live there without question.

I wouldn't have a second thought. A chance to hunt Red Stag's!! Oh yeah, Lord of the Rings was filmed there. Youhave Tropical beaches, Forest, desert and mountains and it freakin snows! How cool can it not be!
