New World Record Elk In Utah

I spent all weekend trying to get this bull on film, and just wanting to see it in person, but had no luck. There is just to many people down on the unit trying to do the same. I know i was in the right area by the number of guides and other hunters watching it. I know you will all say this is highfenced or whatever, but its not, its on a Limited Entry Unit in central utah, starts with an M and ends with an E.

I will keep after it and try to get you guys some pics, my buddy has an archery tag on the unit, but until then here is video a certain guide captured... www.mossback.com

My guess is the DWR is gonnna have to step in and do somethin. The unit was crawling with people this week trying to see it, the roads in the area he lives in was like I-15 during rush hour. Its gonna be ugly up there when the hunt start, especially when the Governers and sportman tags can hunt and Team Mossback rolls in, wouldn't be surprised if someone gets killed before the elk does.

I talked to my buddy today and we have pretty much decided to move on and try to find another 380" plus bull on the unit for his hunt, as this bull has more viewers than the superbowl, and prob will till it is dead. Although we will probably still hunt the canyons below it a couple days, he will drop down in them opening day and lock up. We will sneak hunt the darkest thickest canyons in his area probably if we can't find anything else real great

I never said he was 380". haha he is pushing 510", its hard to judge when they are that big. I'm saying 380" is our goal, we would be happy with a 380, to shoot him would be a big big BONUS! The odd thing about this bull is the unit he is on (Monroe) is not a unit known for producing 400" bulls. Out of the 40 plus 400 bulls killed in utah the last 2 years i think only 1?? has came of the Monroe unit. It is a great unit for a 370" bull but it hadn't really ever reached that top tier like other units in the state. Obviously it has now!

They are pretty much there. They will gain a little tine lenght but what you see now is a good idea of what you will see come september

And yes XC700.. He is about 200 yards off the main road on top of the platuea... He became a real life legend long before he even hit the net! haha

i have been seeing a number of bucks from the sprayer cab. a couple are in the same spots as last year. it is amazing how fast the racks grow, seems like just a couple weeks ago they had no horns at all, and a couple are WOW.

You have wolves in Utah? Thats just not possible, they are all staying right inside the imaginary borders of Yellowstone for all the folks back east to look at in the pretty pictures. They are just one of Gods cuddley furry creatures after all.

Hey Ice, I know old Phatty claims SLC but he is a Rexburg boy at heart.
That is a toad of a bull! Who ever the UTARD was that was dumb enough to let the cat out of the bag with that one should be shot. Im with PJ I wouldn't have mentionioned anything about that guy till it was packed out and the horns were at the taxadermy.
