new vw diesel truck.. kind of

Another great example of a usless vehicle... I am a VW fan (own two) but this is as bad as the Honda "truck" LMAO!

Why in the world would a "snowmobiler" even be looking into a vehicle like this?

RETARDED as this thread!

Moderators please remove this as it is totally usless!

you idiots are funny.

get a guy with a 2 place trailer and this would be perfect.

great gas mileage and an excellent power/torque motor.

but i guess its not a huge truck to compensate for well....you understand...

No I dont understand.. Why dont you explain it since you seem to be an expert on the topic!

Your an asshat and you know it!

Now go back to your tree loving boyfriend and cry about this.

I think it might make a good replacement for my diesel liberty.

I will be dissapointed if VW is the first automaker to make a half-ton diesel.

What would I confused about? That I was able to make it to the snowpark without spending 60k on a truck and trailer?

Exactly!!

I know how you guys feel seeing imports trying to break into the truck market. Nissans/Hondas pretty much make me puke. But like ruffryder is saying if the big 3 wont get off there lazy *** and get with what the market wants then somebody else will. Some of you will remember Ford had slated a 6 cylinder baby PSD in there Expeditions and 1/2 ton trucks years back but they never built it. If they would of they very well may have owned the truck market in these hard times now.

A two place trailer this thing would rule. I have the 2.0 tdi in my Passat and it would have plenty of power juiced up in that thing.

See your suffering from little man syndrome.

Need a 1 ton lifted on 37's with a tuner to pull a 2 place enclosed.

The big 3 have nothing that will touch what vw has in diesel technology. There v10 TDI blows the doors off the big 3 in power, torque, and mpg. AND it doesnt have the gay emission crap that robs 1/2 its mpg.

If vw released a truck right now in the 1/2 ton range with a 400 fpt diesel for 40grand you can say goodbye to a TON of sales for the big 3. But because its not a big 1 ton you bash it when its more then what some people need.

If sold in Canada/The states it will be a hit and will crush the small/medium truck market.

Don't think it would do much to the big 3 in sales since that VW would need a trailer just to haul a 2x4.

Yep. Having a diesel engine that gets awesome mpg, has lots of power and torque for its size and being affordable isn't what people want.

But all you hear is people asking. Wheres the smaller diesel pickup?

Guess people will still have to pay 60+ for a diesel pickup that is oversized for there needs. Not saying the people here but about 60% of diesel trucks are mall cruisers.

Price it loaded at the same price of a dakota and it will sell. Have a base model for cheaper without nav or the big electronic things. Theres a reason why there cars are selling fast.

I think some in the industry are concerned over the 2010 air quality adjustments that will be forced on diesel fuel. Even leaner with less sulfur.

The reliability of diesels is already significantly down from what it once was due to how lean they must run to pass air quality specs and the electronic computer control needed. Back when they could run fat they lasted forever, now, injector pump and turbo problems seem too common at big costs.

leaner diesel in 2010 will not add to injector/turbo and pump life for sure.
