new vibration... any ideas?

Hey guys,

I was out on the black 06 800 X 151 yesterday in the heavy snow that just fell this last storm and notice more vibration than normal. I jumped on the red sled (same as above) the girl was riding and didn't seem to have the same feel... huh??

So I checked to see if one or more of the rivets that I used to just add the snoeliminators was rubbing even tho that didn't seem likely... no rubbing.

I looked at the driver to tunnel clearance and again ... no rubbing.

No un-usual track wear. track tension seems fine. rails are straight as far as I can tell and I just added a rail stiffener set from BRP with the eliminators...

checked the belt and didn't seem to be any burn spots (although the snow was ripe to make that happen) so...

This is my first year on the REV and I'm liking it alot but don't know all the little "quirks" yet that are normal and whick ones mean fix it or walk out on the next ride...

last observation, with the side panel open, the motor really seems to rock around" alot at idle. kinda like it has a loose mount or support bracket. The long screw type engine stop (guessing that is what it does) just behind/between the clutches is loose enough I can turn the rubber pad with engine shut down. Is that too loose?

any ideas would be great. thanks in advance for the help.

Brad

You want the engine bumper snug to the engine. Snug it to the engine, then give it an 1/8 turn. Turn it too much and it will throw off the clutch alignment.

I've had some weird noises on my rev in deep pow. Most have been attributed to snow build-up between the coolers forward to the drivers. Not much clearance there. If you stop long enough for some reason, the snow will build-up.

thanks for the heads up on that. i saw that was the clutch alignment in my manual. I did look up under the tunnel and there wasn't much snow under there.

put a new belt on today and will try that on the off chance it had a bad spot... vibration did seem to be speed sensitive so...

what about track tension? book shows about 1 -1.25" with 16 lbs mid track. Going to check that tonight since I but on some of SMITTY'S drop bracket today and had the track lose anyway.

guess we'll see.
