New/used mid size suv thoughts?

The only prob I see with the wrangler is that we do quite a bit of traveling and the jeep wranglers I have been around were not the best when it came to running down the highway

Two years ago I got a 2012 Ford Explorer as my new work vehicle (reg V6). Is a very nice rig, easy to drive, on demand AWD is nice, 20mpg, gets up to speed decently, 3rd row if every needed.

Liked the thing so much I decided to sell my truck (2010 Tundra TRD Rock Warrior) and get a midsized SUV. After doing research and driving them I decided on the Dodge Durango and could not be happier.

Got the 2013 Durango RT Blacktop Edition. The hemi V8 gets on it, tow package tows 7500lbs, AWD (so nice up here in AK), gets 20mpg plus on the highway, 3rd row when needed, interior is much nicer than the explorer and tahoe (not as nice as yukon denali), every option i could ever want and was roughly $10k cheaper than the tahoe / Denali / explorer. GF has an 09 Denali and she MUCH prefers my rig. I get tons of compliments on it.

I bought the wife a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo last december. It has been a very good vehicle for us. It has almost 48K miles on it and everything is tight, and works like it should. Ours has the 3.6 Pentastar V6, it's got plenty of guts for everything we use it for. It's comfy to road trip in, does ok on mileage (could be better), we see about 23-24 driving 75-80 on the interstate and around 16-17 in town driving. All wheel drive is nice, it's as surefooted on icy and snowy roads as anything out there.

I guess if there is anything to complain about, it could be a little roomier. It works good for our family of 3, but any family much bigger than that would probably want to look at something along the lines of a Durango, Tahoe, Suburban...

Thanks for all the great replies fellas, she is gonna go drive some and see what she likes
