Keep in mind that the big three marked up the sticker price of trucks in the past since they were their bread and butter. They basically priced them for what the market was going for. However, small cars were not profitable to the big three since they were only used for gas mileage credit.....EPA requirements for average gas mileage of total fleet sold per year. Some of the small cars were even sold as loss just to meet EPA requirements. You will see a huge shift in market from large truck to small car. This will force a large shift in vehicle price, where small car price will sky rocket and large truck/vehicle with little gas mileage will decrease in price.....this is based upon my 14yrs of auto engineering experience.

The price of trucks are not flat bottom, it will be best to wait until they begin to rise of where you will know when you get a good deal. I would buy small car as investment and drive as needed, sell within a couple years and come out even or make money. You don't need trucks as every day drivers unless you work construction or box area for work related. In my situation, I have three vehicles, one for towing, one for daily driving, and another weekend classic car.
