New truck? Better be buying boyz!

I work at a dealership and have a friend that moves 300 trucks a year as a wholesaler...I can tell you guys I have NEVER seen as nice of trucks selling for cheap as dirt as now.
IMO, there are ALOT of city folks that have bought up diesel trucks and really do not need them and are dumping them for gassers which is totally just kicking the chit outa these on price. I seen a 05 Durmax CC with cloth and 58k miles SELL for 15800.00 this is just one of many that are actually getting sold by dealers at the sale and I could go on and on bout different deals but just want to let everybody know its a good time to be buying.

Just dropping a note to any of you that are looking at a used diesel you should be buying them now because the market will be coming back, maybe not as strong as before but you wont find them this cheap again.

Only problem with this is what do we do with the diesels we have now cuz they wont give us jack for a trade-in?? I think I will just keep my 02 powerstroke old 7.3 is better than the new ones anyway.

I hear ya'. I just got a (practically) new, 10,000mi, '07 Dodge Mega, 5.9, 6sp, with about $5k of useful extras on it (matching camper shell, aluminum steps, programmer, guages, etc, etc) for $30k.
Sticker was $5k. Guy paid $38k +ttl = about $40k + the $5k extras = $45k and drove it 10,000mi.
Cost the poor guy about $1.50/mile JUST IN DEPRECIATION!
Of course I also have an '02 DMax that I can't get a decent price for.
Both are paid off. Figure if I can't get a decent price for the Chebby, I'll just keep them both and not need a new truck for another 15 years!

I have an 02 Powerstroke and an 07 Mega-Cab 5.9 Was thinking of trading the Mega-Cab for a late model Corvette but the numbers suck! Book - $10,000 Get real. $10,000 buys a Sh!t load of fuel!! I'm lucky enough to be able to let my Powerstroke sit right now. No need to pay the high fuel cost if I don't need to drive it. The last time I bought diesel for it I paid less than $3 a gallon.

Sold my truck last night, way it worked out I lost $1,000 every month I owned it... one less thing to do maintence on or worry about dumping more money in it.... Bought it to drive and enjoy having it while I did, not to make money when I sold it.

So what signs are there that this is going to get better? Wait till the 09s come out in 3 months... then you will start to see the real decline on prices.

I dont think we have even started to see the decline in prices...

Diesel will never be under $4.00/gallon again.
People aren't driving, or selling cause they take such a hit.
Pretty much the dealers are going to sell at cost or below just to move inventory.
