New truck and trailer build

So I hooked up to the shore power today. The lighting in there is really nice and bright. I kind of want another light for the gooseneck because it was a bit dark in there. I think I will leave the lights like they are, just rewire them; I have enough stuff to do as it is. Sorry for the crappy cell photos, I was in a hurry.

Hmm there are hot tubs that run off of 120v... knowing my luck there wouldn't be any water left in there when we get to the mountains.... at least the sleds will be clean! :face-icon-small-ton

Thanks, what would you like to see? Like complete specs on the stereo. Or just general wiring, sub box building?

Here is my first drawing of the trailer.

I was considering putting the speakers in the sub box, but putting a divider between the sub and speakers. That would cut down of the wood that I will use and simplify the wiring (the first design I would have to . It would probably sound better, instead of having spaces

Pics of the install would be the most helpful. I haven't seen very many pics of sub installs. I have never thought about puttings subs in the ceiling. I was thinking in the front of the gooseneck. Another thing that concerns me with subs is how much will everything vibrate. Looking forward to seeing the finish product.

Although subs are omnidirectional, I wanted them to be evenly spaced.

To cut down on vibration, I might use the 3m tape on the panels, I wanted to remove the vinyl side and replace it with thicker aluminum. The wiring will be glued on the sides and the heat vents will be screwed to the enclosure.

The only thing I am worried about is the joints failing on the sub box when I hit bumps. I am making all the joints double Rabbeted so there will be double the surface area for the glue and I am adding screws to it.

The speaker boxes and subs will not be like typical boxes. The sub and speakers are an infinite baffle type but I plan on putting it in a large sealed box 4+ cubic feet for the sub and 2+ for the speakers. Ideally the sub would be mounted to the roof or wall and that is all that would be needed and the "attic" or "adjacent room" would be the box for the sub.

I've been getting everything ready to build the speaker boxes. I'm very busy with my businesses and helping with the girlfriend's horses so the trailer has been put on the back burner.

I did get a rabbet router bit and I have it all set up. the sheets of MDF are too heavy and awkward to run on my router table so I will be using my hand router to do them on the floor.

This MDF make so much dust, it's crazy. Do this outside and wear a respirator! My garage is completely covered in dust, so I might as well keep going and clean everything up once I am done. :face-icon-small-fro

Anyways, I built a test piece to see how much it will hold up, I am using Titebond III and these special wood screws, they haven't split the wood like my other wood screws. Once the glue dries I will try jumping on it and running it over to see how strong it is, it feels rock solid.

Almost done the first box. 2 6.5" on the sides and the the 10" sub in the middle. I just have to cut the top piece, router and cut the speaker holes.

Unfortunately I haven't had time to work on my trailer, I have used it a couple times for quad trips. I use to park it behind my house so I could plug it in. It ended up raining 7 inches and I loaded up the trailer with quads and gear and she sunk in quite a bit. The photos of the ruts were from 1 week after, 3rd photo was ruts from the trailer.

Time to light a fire under my ***! First real sled trip with the trailer this weekend. I need to put in 2x 42k BTU furnaces and wire it all up. Along with superglides and superclamps. I'm going to skip putting the stereo in, I don't want it on the ceiling, I'm afraid it will fall. So the stereo will be going into custom made cabinets on the wall at a later time.

We are on a sled trip with it now. We wired and plumbed one furnace, didn't have enough black iron for the second one.

It was -6 out and with one furnace, not even ducted, it was 30 C at the front thermostat and 21 at the rear thermostat.
