I have a 13' pro 163 with a hps can and par head. I ride 8500-11k ft. What should I be pulling for rpm's ? Thanks!

When setting up a clutch kit for someone, we shoot for 8200. I work at Carls Cycle in Boise, and have one of the better clutch kits for the Pro. The motors are designed to run in their sweet spot at 8200 plus or minus 100. As long as you are close, you will have your sled running spot on in its premium powerband. Get up over 8400 and you actually start to drop off horsepower and torque numbers if you look at the dyno graphs.

Even with the par head? I was told I will want to shoot for a couple hundred more r's with the head. I'm tacking around 8100 right now. Should I drop down a couple grams?

You have to if you want more RPM.
Keeping in mind you do not change spring rates or helix angle

It would all depend on what kind of a powerband you have with the PAR head. Not being that familiar with that particular head, I would say contact them and find out what kind of a recommendation they recommend. The main reason we stick with 8200 is you have the best life out of the engine that way. Even the supercharger setup that we sell for the 800 Pro is set to run at 8200.

I heard that if you get your sled to run about 9000 rpm'S it'll put a whupin on a pump gas turbo. It's all about track speed!
