New To Me 900

Definitely post some pics as you go along with your build. For some reason the 900 is one of my favorite sleds (modded of course).

Since they did not do the dissassemble... It is going to be hard to get any action on this.

Maybe " new parts at TRUE dealer cost" will be a good compromise.

All Polaris Factory pisons are made by Elko in Austria... VERY high quality pistons.

Do not go with SPI or Wiesco IMO... The best pistons are from OEM Polaris.

Do both of your Elko pistons look the same as show in the photo above? ... and have the same part numbers on the domes??

Have a look at this "team tip" from Polaris.

Yup!!!

Now I need to inspect the cyls, as they installed 1 new cyl and honed the other.

A little update:

Got the motor in it tonight, and everything hooked up. I didn't install the pipe yet, as I'm waiting on a new oil pump cable, and I need to fill the fluids.

I wanted to see if she would crack, which took about five pulls and I'm in business. :thumb:

I couldn't figure out where the coolant line that feeds into the pto side of the intake rack hooks up???? The mag side returns back to the coolant bottle and I've looked everywhere for a nipple that is in reach of this line. (I hope I don't have to take the head back off) Please, a little help with this?

thanks
DK

aha
step 3 of slp head install

3. Remove the throttle body coolant line from the coolant bottle. Cap off the coolant bottle with the supplied
5/16” hose cap and secure using the provided zip tie.
NOTE: Coolant lines to and from the throttle body can be removed they will not be used with the SLP
head.

haha...

i run SLP heads as well...you cant use the coolant line at all for the throttle bodies...

i just cap the line right off the side of the throttle bodies..

the coolant line is only running coolant through there to prevent icing inside the bodies on VERY cold days...mine have been capped for 2yrs and no issues...

So you cap it back at the coolant bottle as well?
The dealer installed the head originally, I wish I could remember what he did as it probably would have been a good laugh. The coolant line to nowhere!!!

lol...

yeh i plugged the spout on the coolant bottle...just be CAREFUL pulling the line off the coolant bottle..the line is hard to pull off and if you twist it, it will break the piece of and you will have to replace the coolant bottle then...
