i just got a 04 rmk 700 and i have a couple questions. first off the brake light doesnt always work seems like the track has to be moving for the brake light to come on, both the light on the dash and the tail light. is that normal? and second sometimes when i try to put it into reverse it just dies. am i doing something wrong? thanks.

I had an '05 700.
I would think the brake issue is simply a malfunction in the switch at the master cylinder. Not sure what, but do some checking there.
The TPS is pretty sensitive when going into reverse. I would hold the throttle so I had a couple more rpm's then it would go into reverse. Kind of sucked when it was cold trying to back off the trailer. My wife's '04 600 works every time. I had the engine out once so I made a TPS sensor meter and reset it slightly and it was better after that. Might be easiest to stop by the dealer and have them set it for you.

Where do you live and at what altitude are you doing your testing? When the sled is warmed up what RPM is it idling at? The reverse has a "high and low" altitude setting. Also if the idle rpm is low it will often die... that's what holding the throttle cracked open a titch overcomes.

well right now im doing the testing in my garage so about 3,000 for the elevation. i did just read about the two settings for reverse so ill give that a shot.
