New to co, looking for some other local riders around Denver

Hi, I'm gonna be moving to Denver on Monday from sault ste Marie, mi. So im not familiar with the area at all. Im pumped to be able to finally be able to get out and ride in the mountains. I don't consider myself a bad rider, I can ride miles in the flatland powder we get here in the UP. Just hoping to find some local riders to go out with riding.

All the best,
Dakota

In Aurora and hope to get out this winter. I'm down to go most weekends and Fridays. I also just moved here so I'm always looking for people to ride with.

riders

I am always looking for new riders to hang with. Do you guys have all the back country gear and know how to use it? If not you will have a hard time finding people to ride with. Also what kind of sleds do you run?

Hillbilly!

What is all the back country gear? Once i get settled and have a job sorted out an avvy beacon, hmk backpack with shovel, and any other essentials that are needed will be ordered. RIght now im currently set up with a 2005 m7 efi 141 running a powerclaw track.

That is the gear. You will find plenty of guys here to ride with. Once the snow starts flying shoot me a message and we can go out one day and hit it up. Tons of places to ride, I would recomend taking a AVY class as soon as one is avalable, even if it is a refresher for you!

I have an ABS Bag and Avi Vest, a beacon, probe and shovel. Currently riding a '10 M8 Turbo, but will possibly switch to 13' RMK Turbo for this season. I'm not new to riding or riding in the mountains, just new to riding in Colorado.

Man I hate being the slow guy in the pack :(

Hopefully I'll find a boondocker kit fs

Don't worry about being the slow guy. Big mountain riding is a whole new ballgame. You'll have plenty to keep you busy and stuck for awhile (If the snow is good). Learn the mountain, snowpack - avy conditions, then start easing into the speed of things.

Lots of good, knowledgeable bro's out here in the west. Find a good group of riders who ride with their head(s). (the one on their shoulders) Your life may just depend on THEM!

nice! I am a ok rider. I have been only riding for 4 years. I put a turbo on my 2011 pro last year. Its fun, but sometimes i forget to use my head. But i am game to ride most of the time. I usually ride during the week but i do some riding on weekends some times. LOTS of good riders in the state, as long as you have the gear most people will ride with ya. Trust me you dont have to be the best rider! They will wait for you and keep you out of trouble most of the time. Shoot me a message sometime and we can BS about sledding.

I rode for years with some great riders. They will show you things that look impossible but will not pressure you into trying anything you are not comfortable with. as for the sled i would not worry about it at all! Once you figure out the mountain thing then look at mo-power. If you get the power to soon you will be trying stuff way to early in the mountains. shoot me a message when you get out here and we can meet up for a beer and BS about the upcomming season!

Learn to ride BEFORE you turbo your sled. You'll be a lot happier.

You'd be pretty surprised what you can do on a stock sled these days ..... I've got a nicley set up TM8 and most folks on near-stock Pro RMK's and ProClimbs can do %95 of everything I can on my turbo if they control the throttle right.

I live out by the airport, get some weekends off but some weekdays too which are really nice days to get out!

Bad part is... I hate snowmobiles, and stay away from that damned Hillbilly!

Yea man, get the gear, learn lots and lots about avy dangers, and hit me up when the snow flies, I'll be the guy doing the dance!!

yea I always take my banjo with me!!!!!! if i could ever figure out how to keep my sled from kissing trees i will be doing ok!

Hay P Money, you will have to give my sled a ride this year! It is crazy, now if i kiss a tree its not going to be good!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm moving to Boulder for school right after Christmas. Right now I"m going to school at Michigan Tech and I'm from downstate MI...

We'll have to meet up. I've also got an M7 but mine is a 153. I'll also be sporting a 12/13 Pro that I'm currently piecing together.

Don't you worry about your sled. I can almost guarantee that your skill level is far below the capabilities of the machine considering where you grew up riding (no offense! I'm from MI too). Plus it'll make you a better rider in the future when you decide to upgrade!
