New to clutching - Primary setup question

As a new guy to clutching I am finding my 800 Pro 2011 spends a lot of time in the 7600 to 7800 rpm range in powder between 8500 and 9500 with the 10-62 weights. A buddy is running the Black / Green spring which I noticed has the same pretension of 120 but a higher shift tension of 340 instead of 310.

So would a higher shift tension keep it in a lower gear and help raise the RPM ? I am curious what the higher spring setting would do to the dynamics of the sled's rpm and power curve...

I do plan on going to 60 gram weights to bring up the RPM as well.

I experienced the exact same thing as you when I had 62's in my sled. I switched to 60's, put a blk purple in the secondary, and went with the stock black spring in the primary. Now I stay around 8000-8100 rpm in almost all snow conditions. I do rev higher on the trail in lower elevations, but I just take it easy until I gain some altitude. Some folks on here have claimed higher heat generation with the blk purple, but I seem to be doing fine. I am averaging about 1000 miles per belt, which seems pretty good to me.
