New sled hauler....

Btw I'm not at all interested in making my exhaust any more loud than is currently, which is just a whisper over stock.

Thank you for this...loud straight piped diesels are so played out and sound like crap. Kinda like sleds with just stingers on them.

Great looking truck BTW....I generally am not a fan of red vehicles, with the only exception being when they have nice black wheels :face-icon-small-coo

Yeah my 7.3 is 4" straight piped from the turbo. Runs better than when it wasn't but sounds like a tank Haha.

My old 7.3 was only loud when i was towing along side a wall or tunnel/underpass and was really rodding heavy RPMs. Was barely noticeable otherwise.

Don't like loud diesels, especially the modded dodges. They are obnoxious.

Is there a chance that it is mis-calculating how many gallons are used?
Crazy...I was above a half tank when I pulled into the driveway on Sunday night.

If you are familiar with the newer trip-gauge...it tells you how many gallons you've used since resetting the trip.

Those are referred to as Lie-O-Meters. Usually so far off it's not even funny. Hand calculate your mileage against what you put in at the pump. Then you'll have a fairly accurate idea of your mileage.

Nice truck BTW.:D

That WAS hand calculated. But what happened was the programmer was set for stock sized tires (was that 32" ?), not the 37s that are on it.

The downside to the rest of the story is that the programmer will only calibrate up to 34" tire. I asked H&S if they can fix it...they said no, not yet.
Ford said they can't calibrate that high either.

SOOOO, I'm stuck with a 34" calibration on a 37" tire for the time being.

Someone did tell me there is a plug from Hypertech that can piggyback it, but I called a local diesel shop and they couldn't confirm that at all. Looks like a call to Hypertech is in order

That sucks big time about the tires, cause that means while your odometer will be putting on more miles then you are putting on right? Or am I backwards on this?

So when I get speedo calibrated correctly, will it reflect better or worse mileage?

Right now I've got the bed lined with 8 mil rolled plastic liner and am filling it with water.
Going to surprise the kids with a mobile pond. HAHA.

LMAO. That will be a sight...us drag racing from Trader Bros to the Hayloft with loaded sleds against a bed full of water. HAHAHAH

And if I lose my load along the way it's only considered gamesmanship...otherwise known as a calculated advantage. BWAAAHAHA

Any more miles on this to get a good feel for the fuel mileage?... Thinking about trading my 06 Cummings on one.

I've got the same set up as op. I've had the truck for going on 4 years. 20-36k miles, I was getting 9-11 mpg. At 36k my emissions fell off some how. I consistently get 14-16 with mixed driving and towing combined. If I really try, I can squeak out a 17. Interesting thing about these trucks, is that they are not all one in the same. Some report better, some worse. This is all calculated of course and its easy because I fill up every other day. 35" tires and 3" lift.
