New sled envy...Don't do it!

I ride my sled with confidence and always have a good time. My bud got a new 1 and did great through the deep powder. But when it came too the the nitty gritty, no dice chino. You can't replace experiance with a new piece of equipment. But it still made me want to ride one of those new sleds where life is less difficult. Today the stocks are hot out of the box and easy to ride. Mod 4 life, later brothers.

Why not, I need a new one. Old RMK had over 13k miles on it! X2 has plenty also, don't want to be home this winter if it decides to get tired as it is supposed to be my backup sled. Gotta go trapping/hunting for wolves, wolverine and other furbearers.

Marv rides like a girl man, he's a low end/midrange fellow :)

I beat the hell outta my sleds, thats why I buy used! Buying new, well, that just seems dumb on my part

its always funner to beat the guts out of the new ones...... the best parts aren't already broken off for you when ya get it.

I bought a new sled last year and I am happy with it.
I got to admit when I saw the pics of DARKO"S Turbo Nytro
I got a Little chub....
That is a nice sled

plenty

Holy cow at 12mpg that is 1083Gal of gas!!! How many pistons??? Or other parts??

Couple cranks, 2 pistons, couple front torque arms, rear shock, links rods, track wore and replaced, skis wore out and replaced with SLP, couple billet head inserts, one lower radius rod, upper ski shock mount, can mount, hood hinges, one chain, speedo cable, torsion springs. Just about sums it up, I think. Never changed the chaincase or jackshaft bearings, original windshield, miss that old thing.:( But can't wait for the new.

As far as I'm concerned my sled is new- I bought it last spring and I've only rode it twice, both in crappy spring snow conditions. So what if it's an 03, it's new to me!

New, used, we've got'em all on our trailer. I agree with all of you! Surprisingly!! That doesn't normally happen to often. LOL!! New ones are tougher to work on but a blast to ride, used ones are easier to work on and a blast to ride!! It's a win win situation no matter what you ride, used or new!! I've seen some beautiful older mod sleds running around the hills. Yeah, the kind that make your mouth water! :face-icon-small-win I'm loving those new Yami 4 thumpers too!!

Fire'em up guys and gals, let's ride till we're too sore to do anything else but sit in a hottub and talk about days ride! :D

The new sleds are nice but a lot harder to work on.

I agree! I’m stuck behind a desk at work so the only therapy is to work on the sled in the garage. But the older sleds were a lot easier to work on. But the new sleds Rock!!!!! That’s why I have both in the trailer.:beer;

I don't know klimer800,,, when I saw Darko's t-nytro, yeah, I got wood, no doubt!!!! I like my old sled, and can ride it with the best of them, but damn, that is one ugly ride,,, I get to thinkin about a new one, once in a while,,, but that $23k for the one I want is kinda tough to come up with,,, unless you are in b-boner's shoes,,,,,,j/k.

All that said, the best of both worlds is what I'm after, I love my old mod,, but would really like to have a replica of Darko's in the trailer too!

I second that! I wear mine out too fast anyways, i'm better off finding an old man or someone to buy a used one from then beating it myself.
