new sled = broken gas gauge anyone else?

Mine is busted on my 12 as well. It was showing 1/2 tank on the gauge when I went to refill and it took $40. Usually takes $45-$50 to fill.

No I would take it in on warranty and not whine about it .

I don't want to be disrespectful to someone that I don't know...but with all due respect sir, I don't think anyone is "whining".

I for one am glad he started this thread as I thought maybe mine was the only one and how strange it was for the gas gauge to stop working...but now BECAUSE OF THIS THREAD I know that I am not alone:)

See Mr. All High and Mighty, I believe Snowest is here for the exact reason of this thread...to shed light on issues some are having with their sleds and be able to access that information to be privy to it:face-icon-small-win

Maybe he was just making the point that the time spent here talking about the bad cap, he could've taken it to the dealer and got a replacement and been done. Maybe I'm wrong... That's what I would've done. To each their own though.

nope, posted here to see if this was a common problem.

and my theory was right, it is.

being a mechanical engineer, my ano retentive tendancies sometimes show. This would be one of them.

Well I'm sure we all have our own anal tendencies that shine through for everyone to see (except ourselves), me included :face-icon-small-coo

I honestly think it's dumb as sh!t that in this day and age that we still have these janky @ss mechanical bs fuel gages. How about an electronic one that actually works for 11,000?

Like the janky electronic gauge on my 06 rmk 700? It quit working altogether. I'd rather have the mechanical gauge that is a quick $30 fix should it fail, as opposed to what is likely a more expensive fix requiring additional time and headache due to it being an electrical issue.

Another sinker

2012 , gauge works if you fish it up with a wire, let her go and she sinks.
Any experience with how much of a pia is it to replace ?, I hate to bring it in just for this.

Our 13 600 pro did it from new, thought some one siphoned gas out in the parking lot the first time :face-icon-small-dis.

Got it replaced under warranty this week when they did the quickdrive bolt recall. Dealer said they warrantied a couple other's when I asked if mine was the only one.
