New Rings still low compression - pistons?

I had 90 or so compression on the Mrs.'s ZX 600HO (03). Checked out the rings and sure enough, flaking. I put SPI rings on the stock pistons and only get 100 on both cylinders. If I put a capful of oil in while cold, it come up to 120. My guess is the pistons are shot, too. It has 6,300 miles on it and the newest rings make set number 3 ( 2 from PO and mine). Can I get by with a little trail riding this season (about 200 miles or so)?

I was thinking about going with Big John's trail torquer package if I need a new top end. Are they worth it?

It still has a big bog until 3000 rpm's or so. Would that be reeds or still the low compression? My guage should be ok because my 700 reads 125 and 130.
