NEW PRODUCT: TIMBERSLED/FOX: FLOAT3 EVOL KASHIMA.

The outer seal is only an ice scraper and a low pressure oil seal... not much friction.

The inner seals that hold the air pressure back, that ride on the Kashima-Coat, have a lot more face pressure and is one of the higher friction points on the shock.

I have been running the Timbersled rear skid, and front a-arms, all season and couldn't be happier. I have tried other rear skids and multiple different rear shock set-ups in the past. The problem I have always found is that one set-up works great on the trail, but with a turbo, you can't keep the skis on the ground while climbing. Well, that is a thing of the past! I LOVE my rear skid now. I am running the new Fox shocks and for the first time ever, I can honestly say that this is a rear suspension mod that is worth every penny! Having the ability to adjust your suspension/coupling with the twist of a knob is darn near magical! Every sled I own from here out will have a Timbersled rear on it......and if you have a turbo, I suggest you do the same.

Got to ask, what is the point of the expensive Kashima coating if its only on the shock body and not the shaft where it actually does something besides look cool? This looks like the same standard anodized coating on the usable part of the shock shaft that Fox has used for a decade. Please correct me here if I'm wrong.

good questions. on my mtn bike fox shocks and forks that have kashima coating, the coating is actually on the sliders/shafts. it is golden color and is super smooth.

these snowmobile shocks don’t look like they have the coating, although they claim they do:face-icon-small-con
