New Pro vs. New E-tec

Are there guys and/or gals that have riden a Pro-RMK and an 800 E-tec? I'm planning on buying a new sled next year and I am torn between the two. I have had polaris in the past but never a moutain sled and I have read the reviews on the Pro. I really like the "flickability" factor that comes with the Pro, as the tree riding for me is the most enjoyable. I currently have 2009 Summit. I love everything about it except that is does not lay over very easy. The motor is awesome so the E-tec can only be better and supposedly Doo moved the suspension mount to make it easier lay over. What to do, what to do. So can offer some constructive advise?

Thanks in advance!

I had a 2009 x-xp and now have the 2011 800 e-tek, night and day differance between the two. I have the x with the narrow ski stance, this sled is by far the easiest that I have owned to lay over or side hill. Motor is very smooth and powerful, I have no complaints about this sled and would buy another one for sure.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. I love the dealer I work with and they do not sell Polaris, Yet.

The dealer I work with here in Wyo. is a dealer for both Ski-Doo and Polaris.
I take their customers down to the Snowies to demo both sleds and try to sell them on either sled. And what I have learned so far this year with several customer rides and lots more to come.. The people who ride Ski Doos will stick with the Ski-doo and the people who ride Polaris's want to stay on the new Polaris.
Not a lot of brand changing..
As for the people who ride the Cats they tend to go towards the Polaris.

You will not go wrong with either one. Both sleds simply rock.
It will always come down to your dealer and a fair price.
In a few weeks we will know what's new with both models and come April we will have the snow checks coming in and then we will know what the people want here in Wyo.
Right now we have more people looking at the Polaris's.

This can all change after we install turbos in both sleds.
The Polaris will have a BD and will be done tomorrow.
The E-TEC will have the Trask installed by early Feb.

Have fun

dcturbo, I would sure like to meet up with you at some point this year to look at the pro turbo and the doo turbo. If you have a schedule set up when you may be in the snowies pm me with it or if you prefer the madre's thats fine also.

Cash I will let you know when we get them both up..
I will be riding my T- Pro for the next 3 days.

Riley you should have been up there today!!! EPIC!

I have an 09 xp 163. Buddy has an 11 etec 163, another buddy has a 155 Pro. I could see getting used to the pro fairly easily, alot more so than an M8. I rode one of those and couldn't hardly make it turn, but that's a different story.

I have 11 arms and skis on my 09 set to narrow stance and it is the easiest sled to pull over I have ever ridden. Love the change.

2010 XP owner here planning to snow check eTec but intrigued with the Pro. Went to the sleds for sale section for the heck of it.

Several 2011 Pro's for sale, NO eTec's?????

I got a buddy that has a 2011 Freeride he wants to sell, has one trip on it. He might be willing to trade your 2010 and some cash.

what did it cost you to narrow up the ski stance? I've been thinking of making the change as well.

Funny you mention no etec's for sale. We were at Cooke City for New Years. Staying at the Antlers. Bill, who owns the Antlers, has been die hard doo for years. bought a new etec early in the year. We were eating one night and asked him how he liked the etec. He said, "it is a great sled, do you want to buy it"? After he rode the new pro he bought one and is selling his etec.

It's too bad we shell out so much cash on something we have never tested. Which is probably what happened with Bill. I know some poeple that are on snowest do get a sneek ride on the new stuff but for the average buyer we are stuck trusting the reviews of people that probably don't enjoy the same things we do. And to top it off being from MN, the manufacturers don't bring their mountian sleds to the sneek peek shows. Nothing like shooting from the hip on an $11000 purchase!!!
