How much do you focus on Avalanche skills training. Is your Avi instructor affiliated with Zacs/CAC or any other recognized training center?

In the Pro Mountain Camps we cover avalanche awarness. This is to increase your knowlage and search skills in a safe envirnment. Each of the guides has their 80 hour operations level 1 avalanche coarse. In the evenings, at the lodge there is a guest speaker that is a avy instuctor. So the whole camp is designed for a huge learning experience: tachnical riding, Avy awarness, machanical awarness, safty awarness, great food, great lodging and good friends.

Glad to see you guys are including avy portion to your ride clinics. I was just discussing this ride clinic trend with a friend following a basic snowmobile avy course that we were teaching down here in SW MT. Trying to figure out how to get more exposre for avy awareness for sledders. I think you are hitting the nail on the head with this. Pro riders could be a huge asset to the avalanche education world. You have the exposure to get the word out. Hopefully other ride clinics are following a similar model.

Sounds like a pretty amazing little setup up there fellas! Sproat and Brandywine are great areas to take people to teach and let them get a lil buck wild!

Thanks, backcountry sledding and avy awarness need to go hand and hand. Although the beacons are becoming very user friendly and advanced, there is no substitute for knowledge and experience. It is very unsettleing to see how many people lack these qualities, we just need to give people more avenues to gain this exposure and I think we are moving in the right direction.

Highly recommend riding with these guys. Rode with Hoff and had the time of our lives!

Best money I've spent snowmobiling!
