new polaris updates= scuffed pistons

go to polaris iq forum and read all about it . going to trade 09 800 for new m-8 that according to dynotech makes 163 hp and 09 800 dragon withupdates makes 150 hp right before the pistons scuff wtf

Oh please. Read the entire thread including the latest page which states that he has something wrong with his intake. This is an isolated case and not representative of everybody so dont make it sound that way in your post.

The new M8 does sound like a very nice sled and should treat you well.

My 08 D8 that I snowchecked has 2500 miles on it without any problems and now have 50 miles on it with the update and still runs great.:beer;:D

Yes

everybody is jumping the gun the only way this is going to happen is if you are highly modified or if something else is wrong .We have lots of miles on already and they are running awesome. remeber on the interenet half of what you read is bs also just some people trying to get people excited!!

Just remember to break these sleds in, have your fuel wires unplugged, The right weights and look things over!

How much you want for that unreliable piece of junk???? Miles???. Thanks. EW

I don't know guys,
I can count 4 different guys in several different threads that all have scuffed pistons with the latest update. Not only that, but a handful of guys including 1-2010 who are having no start issues after a warm motor is shut down.

I foresee alot of dragons/rmk's for sale within the next month.

I'm one of those guys with an updated D8 down. scoring on both pistons, 1.5 tanks of gas later and she is done. Not sure why I'm surprised.

scuffed pistons

go to polaris iq forum and read all about it,after market guys told me to only run redline oil, dealer said ves oil won't protect against the heat build up,polaris is coming out with new oil to bandaid the screw up

How many of theses sleds are 08's that didn't get a new intake boot replaced? Almost all 08 intakes are de laminating and almost fall off when taking out the airbox out. Done about thirty so far.

i run red line oil and only redline, use it for break ins as well. 3300 miles last year trouble free, had the update done this year as far as the head and pistons but have last years ecu program, and i now have a little over 100 trouble free miles this year

when was this change issued? i have a 08 rmk but it was a rental in 08 and bought in the spring when they were selling off their models.....would there be a possiblity it was already done when the rental company had it? 3000 miles zero issues..........there is something about rental sleds and not going down.
