New phone question.

Your correct, 4G won't be available for a few more months here, but from the videos I've seen, it is extremely fast. I download allot of music, and that will be real nice for that. You can get just about everything on the I-phone, but you do have to pay for it. I like having everything included in that $30 a month fee I already pay. I don't want to pay $2.99 for Navigation, and $.99 for every song I download, etc. etc.

Also, I like having the option to watch you-por n if I decide I want to. I know there's a few guys on here that will think I'm evil for it, but at least I have the choice. :)

The removable battery is nice, if you go on a flight, and wanna watch a movie or something you've downloaded onto your phone. Also, I stream my satellite onto my phone, so I can watch the games while I'm out golfing, or doing other things where I don't have access to a charger. I like the bigger screen for that. The I-phone is a little small for me, but still works. I've never had a problem with battery's getting water in them, but I have had problems with them dying on me.

I'm not sure of anything that the I-phone can do that Android can't do anymore. I could be wrong on that one though!

I have been streaming the NCAA basketball games over my 3G connection with no issues.

There has not been anything I have wanted to do on my iPhone that I can't do.

Really this is a ford/chevy debate.

You don't have to pay $0.99 a song. If you buy through apple you do but there are other ways to get music. There are apps that allow you to get free and legal music or monthly fee stuff.

LOL, that's the truth. Both are good phones, and if you just want realibility, and ease of use, the I-phone is hands down the best phone for that.
If your more into custimazation, and like to tinker with things, & have the latest technology, then go with Android.

It's all personal preference. IMO!

Just wondering...can I get netflix streaming on my DroidX?

I'm gonna have to search that one out.

I don't think so...not yet.

Hands down the best thing I did to get Live TV to my smartphone(droid) was a slingbox

I already had a HD sling box

http://www.slingbox.com/go/home

so I got the sling app

This allows me to control and watch any device it is hooked to. I have mine attached to a Directv DVR at my house. So at anytime I can control, and watch my directv box in real time from my phone. So pimp.

If your slingbox was hooked to a blueray that had netflix...you would be able to watch from you phone ;)

x2, I bought that 922 receiver from Dishnetwork with the built in Sling. They offer a free app, so now I can watch anything I have on my satelite right on my phone. Works great on wi-fi, but it's a little skippy on 3G. I'm hoping that when 4G is realesed in the next few months, that it will work just like wi-fi.

As far as net flix goes, I'm guessing you could run it through your tv, and record it on your DVR. Then you could watch it from your phone. Not the easiest way to do it, but at least it would work.

I'm just a simple man.
A dumb f#@k of sorts.
The kind of guy who couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel.

I needs me a simple phone!

Got a Samsung Rugby....I figured out how to charge it, I think I'm on my way!

What does a Droid do that an iPhone can't? 4G? 4G Coverage is extremely limited and really only help data usage, and it destroys batteries. Most places that 4G is available is in downtown of major metro cities, most of the time you have a wireless connection in these areas.

As for Apps, I don't know of any App that I can't find. Is there an app for the Droid that I can't get on my iPhone? I doubt it. Either way I am 100% satisified with my App selection (larger than anyone else).

As for the Flash thing... Flash can present some MAJOR security flaws. It is hard to protect against it, that is the reasoning behind no flash. It is an outdated and poor application as it is now.

Here's the first 10.... http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/10_things_android_does_better_iphone

But honestly the iPhone isn't bad, i just don't like how controlled it is... My wife has an iPhone... she loves it but gets mad when I show her stuff on my droid that she can't do on her iPhone, cuz apple won't let her... lol

Isn't the Apple Ownership Group kind of a cult?

It seems the users of Ipod, Iphone, Mac, ITunes actually believe you are less intelligent as them with your inferior piece of crap MP3, Razr, Windows & Media Player.
BTW, Media Player has to be the easiest by far to use. Trust me, I know simple!

That list is dated and wrong.

Apple runs multiple apps with no issues.

Choose your hardware? Who cares.

Better app store? Wrong. They admit that in your link.

Choose your carrier, the three largest carriers use the iPhone now.

Android allows you to change settings faster? Lol really? They are grasping.

Android allows more social integration? Not sure how they figure that. Twitter, myspace, Facebook, foursquare are all on iPhone.

That list is junk. Even I can think of better droid reasons.

haha good stuff, yeah they are a cult. I always see them at school with their apple computers, listening to their ipod, and texting on their Iphone; wearing skinny jean, printed tees, and weird hair cuts (this goes for both guys and girls). If you do approach an apple cult member they only will talk about fine arts, clothing, indie music and of course how much easier Microsoft word is to use on their extremely over priced computer.

expensive phones are a joke! I had one and the screen stopped working.... bought a 50 dollar phone, looks like a joke compared to the other one but it works so much better! sometimes cheap is the way to go lmfao
