Who all is signing up for the new forum option? Don't know why it isn't posted somewhere that all members can see it. Maybe it would get more non paying members to sign up if they knew that with their premium membership they could get no ads for another 12 dollars a year. But where it is posted only premium members can see the option

Probably because it is not an option that is NOT available to Basic members~ It is only available to Premium and Life Time members~

Was that not part of the original agreement? "No ADs for paying members"! They have failed to hold up their end of that contract and now they expect us to pay even more so they can again not hold up to their contractual obligation? Just another spud farmers ponzie scheme perpetrated by Harris Publishing. A good Lawyer would own them already. Rant over!

801 you missed my point. My point was if it was posted where basic members could see it, instead of where they can not see it. Maybe basic members would become premium members so they could take advantage of being able to pay even more so they did not have to see ads.

Loud handle I don't think that was a promise of the premium membership. I do recall being told that by being a premium member it would enhance our experience on this forum, and our membership would help pay the costs associated with running this forum. I do not recall being told that Harris publishing was an advertising agency and that charging for this forum was all about profit.

ok~ i made a poast to bring this idea to Christopher's attention~ i'm sure he will put a notice up or move the current link over so basic members can be away of the option~ thanks for the input!

Picture this scenario;

You pay your apartment rent for many years in advance.
Then the landlord rents out the basement to the local beekeeper.
Now the landlord is offering to spray you apartment to keep the bees out for a monthly fee.

What's next, infecting the site & selling us antivirus?

But as I said in a previous post, I am glad he's listening & responding.

Just saw his response:face-icon-small-sho Guess he is not interested in the possibility of pulling in new premium members.

I look at it this way, Adblock+ is free, ads gone, no charge.
I had adblock+ for awhile too. It worked great right away, no ads at all. Then they slowly started coming back. Then it started messing with videos. I couldn't play youtube videos at all anymore. I ended up having to disable adblock. It sure was nice when it worked though. However I won't be paying $1 per month to get rid of the ads. As if buying a membership wasn't enough.

EDIT: uninstalled and reinstalled adblock+ and works good again.
