This is a prototype of the new KMOD skid. With one good ride so far, I'm very impressed. It rides better and keeps the front end down better than my mtn tamer does. It is built strong, but still very light.

wow it looks just like Timbersleds.

I actuallly think the timbersled works great. Took a little bit of tuning to get tit to keep the front where i want it but i love it now

For the 1400 miles I've put on it, I have liked it too. I just like the Kmod better. The only way I can get the timbersled to keep the front down, is with the limiter strap as tight as it will go, then I don't have much travel left on the front shock, so the rear shock does all the work. This skid has alot more travel both front and rear and I was amazed at the ride down the ungroomed trail. The rear evol shock is nice too.

As for the approach angle, I have attached a picture of my sled with the timbersled and with the KMOD. The pics aren't taken at the same angle, so it is hard to tell.

Now, I don't own the Kmod skid and will be putting my mtn tamer back in after Saturday's ride at Tony Grove. This should give me another good comparison when I go back. I am excited about the Kmod as it looks to have a very promising future. I have a feeling that I'll be riding one of the production skids next season.

unnless you changed mounting points or rails, you will not have altered the Attack angle that much...I am heavily focused on a Drop and Roll kit that Robbie (Avid Products) is going to make...having ridden with him and his XP with his big drop and roll, and the 3.0" track...WOW climbing like a goat is an understatement!!!

mtn tamer looks the same but keeps the back end done un like that one were there is a pole up its a$$ aka gay looking

Eye git a kik out uv tha waye sum peepol spail there wurds. Momma alwayz sed a gud spellar waz a sine uv a poar amajinashun.

I too, was quite concerned when I first saw the ride height. I was expecting that the ride height was going to cause poor steering. I basically left the trailer expecting that I would not like it as well as my mtn tamer. I returned to the trailer with a different attitude!

Doesnt have the sliding couplers like the Timber/M10/Fabcraft. Which in my opinion the timber is just a lightwieght copy of an M10 or a cross between those two, (dont mean that negitivly) The ride height looks similar to the EZ ryde.

Im running the KMOD coilover in my turbo and at the lower 200 HP level seems like a great match/balance, Kevin has been great to deal with as well!!!!!

Stainger is running this skid too I believe and has said some really good things about it! Looks promising!!!! Great to have another option as always!

My EZ-Ryde is no where near that height. I'm actually thinking about using some small drop brackets to raise the rear of mine a little. i just hope that when i add boost that my EZ-Ryde is able to keep the front under control. If not i will be getting a Kmod setup.:D

That ride height looks way to high. Might keep the front end down with the ride height and that transfer block but I doubt it handles well overall. Nytros don't like the rear end jacked like that.

This was my initial thought as well, but after testing it on some good mountain rides, I'm really liking it. Especially on yesterday's ride when we adjusted the rebound clicker on the evol rear shock. I think the front end still handles the same as before, while the rear gobbles up the bumps. I now have my mtn tamer back and I think Kevin is planning on sending this particular Kmod skid to someone in Driggs (Racinstation) to beat on it. I hope they will provide their feedback as well.

In my experience, any negative handling characteristics of a sled are magnified during spring snow conditions. I didn't notice any negative handling due to this skid. It was still very fun to boondock with.
