New Emergency Shelter Boulder Mtn. :)

Great pics. Dusty V. the sequence pics. help with with grant advances.
Jimmy at Nor-Val rentals is delivering and loaning us a manlift, thank you. We are starting the roof this wknd. The lift will help huge on this project and the siding.
Dusty D. found us church pews for our indoor seating. :face-icon-small-hap

Anyone have a great idea for a system to hang helmets/coats/packs?

Greg says we`ll be having a huge work party soon to clean up, move the cabinets and stove from the existing cabin and bring in the firewood.

It`s been 6 wks. in progress now, first we had to wait for the snow to melt and now we are trying to beat it, hopefully we have 4 more wks. till it starts.
The project is going really good, thanks everyone.

Things are lookin good!!!! Can't wait to see it covered in snow this year.

THANK YOU to PP and everyone else who has helped with this project. Wish I was closer so I could come help.

We were working on the roof last wknd. snow won on Mon. The zoom-boom Nor-Val Rentals has loaned us has helped huge. Thanks again Jimmy.
This wk. the gable ends will be finished and the siding goes on and the zoom-boom will make life easier again for the carpenters.
We`ll be back up this comming wknd. to finish the roof and clad the bottom perimeter.
Once it`s watertight the stove will be moved over and the inside work starts.

maybe this has been asked before, sorry if it has....but what is happening with the old cabin?

i'm kinda going to miss that place, even though the new one looks awesome...it just doesn't have the same history or character of the old one

Another big wknd. Roof is done, deck is watertight, chimney went in for the new stove, siding is going on and we are planning the wood work party. Hope you are able to come up and see our progress in person.

WOOD WORK PARTY. We have tenatively scheduled a massive wood cutting party for Sept 25/26. We would appreciate as many volunteers as possible as this will be the only opportunity to fill the basement with firewood.
You will need your own transportation to the cabin ( ATV). The more chain saws the better and just to no...te some of the wood is very large so bigger saws would be great.
Chain oil and gas will be supplied by the club. If anyone has a quad trailer to help shuttle fire wood to the cabin door , bring it along.
We will update on this work party as it gets closer as it will be weather dependant.
If you have any questions, please call Greg Byman at 250-837-6738.

Might be able to make the wood cutting deal. Will there be Medics standing by?:face-icon-small-sho

We`ll fix you up and get you off the mtn., no worries buddy. :face-icon-small-win

No cell service at the new site either NM, we use the club`s radio`s and keep in touch with other club members who monitor us in town.
You as a club member are covered under the club`s insur. policy when volunteering, just let Greg know you will be attending. It is also important that our volunteer time is recorded for grant purposes.

Hope to see you up there. :face-icon-small-hap

from this wk. siding and soffiting is going up, doors and windows are in, cabin is insulated and the wood stove is burning. :face-icon-small-hap

When you think that it was only 10 wks. ago that we all started making an access trail to the site, it has gone really good.

Yes that was quite a fast build and that is one sweet looking cabin.I can hardly wait for my first ride of the season and check it out in person.

Shelter

Wow, nice work to all the volunteers, boy that thing is huge will need a few cords of wood to keep it warm

Wood work party is cancelled for this comming wknd. :( the plan was to move a machine up top to remove the muck and move some dirt around for us. With all this heavy rain we now have a cabin on a lake and the trail in is unaccessable by quad.. We will try again for the wknd. of Oct. 2-3.
