New Cat dealer

Just herd some rumors about a new Arctic cat dealership opening up in the calgary area any one have any info or have herd anything like this??

Try Chunk's MotorSports in High River....Short drive....and the best peeps you will ever meet......Willy.... great guy/owner............Jenn in Parts..great parts Gal.........and very knowlegeble service team.

They also work with Brent Linderman.:D

Ralphs has a great selection on parts but I can see there being problems soon as Dan has given his notice. He knows parts and does not over sell you he will be missed.Guy who is replacing Dan has no experiance in sleds or quads I don't know what they were thinking. As far as service is concerned if you have met Mark I need not say more.
Chunks are a great bunch of guys that sled. Grant in the service department is easy to get a long with and knows his stuff. He just bought M8 for himself.Ask anyone at Ralphs what they ride. And Willy is a super guy who gives you his full attention while talking to you not trying to finish with you so he can get on to the next sale. This shop is more than just taking your money they are sledders. Some shops in big cities just want your cash then they say next.
I guess you can tell by this post were I'll be spending my cash.Just my opinion though.

Cheers,
Dave

Ralphs is a JOKE.. Bought 2 sled there 2 years ago and will never go back.. There service depatment is terrible , Mark in service just gives you the run around when you need something done.

I think the new dealer will do good..

Anyone know the story behind Agro closing their doors?

IMHO they were 100X better to deal with than Ralphs. They maybe weren't quite as knowledgeable on parts depending who you got, but they ALWAYS had the better price and were much more personable. There service department was better than Ralphs too in my experience.

Mark at Ralph's is an OK guy, especially if he thinks you've got $$$$ to burn, but I don't go in there unless I absolute have to, and when I do, I make sure I have all day set aside to wait around and I bring plenty of lube, because I know I'm going to get bent over...

Waxy

Ralph's is good to us. Mark helped get me new clutches covered under warrenty when something got into them and scratched them all up. Too bad about Dan leaving, he was a good guy. We even registered there for our wedding... :D

I bought my last sled at Agro and they might not of had the best parts knowledge but the service department with Dennis Zacherack was excellent. Dennis knows snowmobiles and how to make them faster.
They just couldn't compete with Ralphs probally because beening a John Deere dealership people didn't even know that they sold sleds.I still talk to Dennis once in a while and wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the sled business in the near future.
It was through Dennis that I met Brent Linderman and if you have a Cat and want more out of it I would give him a call. He does turbos but is best known for his porting jobs.On less than $3000.00 my sled is pushing a little over 200 honest horsepower. If you ever see me out there pull me over and have a look. Depending on what you are riding I might let you try her.
Brent is working his magic for Chunks and if you want a souped up cat right off the showroom floor I'd call them.

Cheers,
Dave

Well im new into Cat. I have been to Ralphs a few times.Everything has been good but wasnt to happy with the Service Department. I just bought this sled after having payed a 2 hour checkover and getting warrenty work done on it. Thinking everything was good. They only changed 1 out of the 2 cracked motor mounts, forgot to put a bolt in buy the motor mount. And wow i found it under the hood after doing a full day of riding. And yes it wasnt in there befor the ride.I noticed it missing. The shock threads on the inside were all scratched up from there F@@king forklift. Oh and befor i did any riding since the work, i loaded the sled a week later on my trailer i noticed one skid rail was cracked a bit. (Probley not a warrenty thing but they should have noticed when your paying them 250 bucks to just look over the sled and noted it on there check list.)Im thinkin ill be trying else wear for service work when the time comes. All said and done i still like my M7 and its a fun sled.

I chose chunks

I bought a 09 1000 this year from chunks, they will compete with Ralph`s on prices and have been very pleasant to deal with. I have ordered parts with no hassles and received them promptly. Chunk`s supplies Brent (Arctic Edge) with all his parts. Definitely worth dropping buy and checking out!!

too bad about Agro. Dennis is a very good guy. He was one of us and you could tell he liked being around sleds. I hope he turns up somewhere.

From what I hear I am sure we will see Dennis in the near future.I like him too he is honest and knows sleds.Maybe the break will do him some good.He put a lot into trying to make Agro work only to have it taken away as it was just stating to take off. I know if I ever need a tractor Agro is the place I'll stay away from. Mark the salesman just wanted to sell sled even if they were not going to be around to service it.Crappy way to treat a custumer after spending over $17,000 with mods.My machine broke down two weeks before Dennis,s last day.New crank got to Agro 1 week after his last day and Dennis being the stand up honest guy that he is came into Agro and installed my crank.Pretty hard to beat that? eh.I offered Dennis a part of my shop to keep his business going but I think he had such a bad taste in his mouth after that he declined for now.If you are reading this post Dennis the offer is still open.Just my 2 cents worth!!!

Cheers,
Dave

Ok i found out about the new dealer today i beleive it si going to be called top brass or something along those lines it will be on the north end of the city and they will just be selling arctic cat quads not parts no service just sell quads and as you guys were talking about Dan leaving Ralphs yes it is going to hurt alot he noes alot about a cat and i have been in there a few times since the new guy started and he is not very friendly but stever the other parts guy is really good guy to deal with and some of the stuff he says is hillarious and FYI the new parts guys name is greg she would not mind to see him go and dan stay

I didn't even know about the High River dealer. I just bought my 3 and 4 sled from Ralphs. I'm not a big fan either. I ordered a stock rear two wheel kit for my M8. I phoned back (after confirming the part numbers on the fiche) to make sure he ordered everything. Turns out he ordered the 4 wheel kit! I cancelled my order's and ordered some where else. I had considered buying another sled from Echo in Edmonton but decided to buy from the local dealer.
After my hassles with Ralphs I wish I would've known about High River.
I pick up my sleds Friday........

Thanks for all that guys....I guess I was wrong. My, have times changed. I guess just because Ralph's has been around for umpteen years means didley - squat. With that said, any opinions on Red Deer Power Sports? Thanks. :light:

Well once again i went into Ralphs to get oil today. 4 litter of Apv synthetinc 2 stroke. They didnt have the shelfs stocked up vary good so i started diggin around the jugs of oil in there. Well they had 2 differnt jugs labled Apv synthetic 2 stroke oil. Well what threw me off was it was a motor oil looking colour in one and the other was like a dark (blackish)color . Well i knew the light color one was not right, so i smelt the dark one and it wasnt write ether. So i go and ask the guys if they had any in the back (witch they did) So i told them about those two other jugs and all the guy did was smile and sayed someone f@@ked up. I sayed well someone would be realy pissed if they dumped that in there brand new 14 000 sled. So i was leaving and they didnt even pull it off the shelf or even check to see if i was wrong ....just went back to what they were doing. F@@k i was pissed good thing i didnt send the young lady to get oil..........................or someone who didnt know what to look for.

Anyway Check what oil you guys are buying because it could be the wrong SH@T Im drinking now so im calming down.:beer;

As far as IM concerned, Dan is a GOOF.

Dad bought the M8 there, and Im constantly in there buying oil, parts if I need them, and accesories for my sled.

Not a single deal, even when asked for.

About the oil though.... I usually just bring my empty jug in and they fill it for $52.00 every time, just from the drum of it in the back.

Never a deal on anything.
I'd like to check this Chunk's place out, even though I live by C.O.P.

Dan JUST started riding... Im not sure if he has half a clue what's going on, so judging by that, this new guy can't be any worse. This is turning into a Roast Fest... are we on SpikeTV right now, haha?

Dave we have not met yet and I am very sorry that I didn't get back to you about the trip to Revy last week, but I like your line of thinking and I hope to get out and ride with you ASAP!! As far as Ralph's goes, that place is a Fing Joke. The ONLY dealer to go see in the calgary area in my opinion right now is Chunks in High River!!!

Hey there Darrel,
I have always wondered why they have never had the jugs filled by Arctic Cat. They have always had those clear jugs that they fill themselves.Last season they were selling these jugs at 49.00 but when I went to Agro I got the jug for the same price in a sealed Arctic Cat jug.I would of thought that by filling their own jugs they would pass on the savings to us the consumer but no they just want to make as much as they can.If you look at the oil rack at Ralph's the jugs are at different levels and the labels they put on the jugs are barely on the jug.Very easy for label to be taken off and put on different jug. That is probally what happened with you someone took off 52.00 sticker and replaced with 29.00 sticker from regular 2 stroke oil.Ripped Ralph off and maybe caused an other custumer grief.Lucky for you you know the difference in oil and checked it out.I have had my wife go and pick up oil for me in the past and with me being color blind wouldn't have noticed the difference and would have used and ruined my motor.
An nother problem with this is once I had left new jug in my trailer only to get to Revelstoke and find the cap had come off and covered my trailer with oil. What a mess. When I first started going to Ralphs they used to at least put packing tape over the label and over the cap but I guess they got lazy and have stopped.Last weekend I didn't have time to drive to High River to Chunks so went to Ralphs the labels on the jugs were falling off so I can see how this may have happened to you Darrel. You would also think this practice of filling jugs would save you money but no.From now on if the jug isn't Arctic Cat I'm not buying unless it is cheaper.Ralphs only sells these jugs they fill themselves and have often wondered why they don't give us the consumer the choice.Just my opinion!!!

Cheers,
Dave
