New camo track

I am thinking of putting the new camo extreme 9174 on my 13 pro.
Since it is a 3 inch pitch I have to switch drivers.
The only ones available are 7 tooth.
I understand this will effectively gear me down.
Anyone tried this? I'm a little worried it might be too low.

9104

The 9104 is much stiffer.
The new 9174 ce is softer.
I mostly ride in deep powder in wyoming and Idaho.
I have the peak on my 12 assault and really like it. keeping it on again this year.
The 9174 looks a little softer and would be lighter in a 3 inch pitch.
Kinda interested in gearing down too.
I'm wondering what kind of track speed it will have going up hill in deep.

Gearing down won't do anything to your track speed in the deep. It will just affect where the belt rides in the clutches. You probably only see 45-50 mph going in the deep. It won't matter that your full shifted out speed is 100 or 85.

Ok so does that mean i will have less clutch heat too? Since the belt is riding higher..
That sounds good

Gearing down SHOULD reduce clutch heat if everything else is set up correctly. If the driver needs to be an 8 tooth, I'm sure Robbie could work something out for you.

Kinda like the idea of the 7 tooth.
Track clearance in the tunnel is another benefit.
I have the peak 2.5 on my 12 assault with stock drivers and it is pretty tight. Works great though for the deep after i moved the front suspension bolt to the pro position. Photo to prove it.

Now it pops up on top really good.
I will put some pictures up in a few weeks when i get it together.
Thanks

7t works really good, lowers belt temps and heat. Like Robbie said, that 4 to 6 mph on top end won't bother you considering the gains you get on the bottom and mid.

An 8 tooth 3" pitch driver will not fit correctly with a 2.5" track... it is larger diameter than stock.

You'll be loving 2013 with a 7 tooth driver, 3" pitch, and that track...one of my favorite combos on this chassis. In fact, my fav Camoplast mountain track at this time.

I know Harts Motorsports (HM Turbos) has pulleys for the QuickDrive system when you change your driver size. It allows you to customize your gearing.

Does anyone else have pulleys available yet?

When I talked to Shane, he was only developing/offering pulleys to gear UP back to the stock ratio when you change to 7T drivers.

Drivers YES and Track Description

Robbie... do you have drivers done for the new driveshaft on the 2013's already?

Just got off the horn with Robbie... The Drivers are available now... Same pricing as others.

He's also working on a dedicated 2013-only Extended belt drive with lower sprocket cover and adjuster in conjunction with C3... The 2012/11 extended setups will still be avail from AVID/C3.

Info on the the 9174 & 9176 from a previous post/thread.

New Lighter Weight Camoplast Challenger Extreme Tracks

Camoplast introduces new lighter weight Challenger Extreme mountain tracks with improved lugs for even better performance in deep snow conditions.

With a weight reduction of 4 pounds (#9175M), the 2011 versions of this benchmark high country track weigh approximately 8 per cent less than the equivalent models being replaced.

Featuring the traditional Challenger design of outside edge lugs on one pitch followed by a center lug on the next pitch, the new Extremes are equipped with a 2.5-inch no-tooth lug. Every lug incorporates support towers in the center and on the edges for excellent lug support, but the section between the towers is thin and flexible under load to improve flotation in soft, bottomless powder.

The new Challenger Extreme tracks are available in:

  • 15-by-153-inch #9174M
  • 15-by-162-inch #9175M
  • 16-by-162-inch #9176M

With internal drive and a 3-inch drive pitch, they will fit Arctic Cat M-series snowmobiles equipped with Diamond Drive without drive or suspension modification, as well as fit other mountain models from other manufacturers.

This new series of track is a "Drum Molded" track as are the majority of the Camoplast Mountain Track line-up.

This photo shows the 9944M, which is the 16" wide track... this is the only one in this lineup that does NOT have paddles to the edge.
