So I finally showed my wife we can get out of debt and still have enough to buy me a new sled. I have a budget of about $4500 after I sell my sled so I am trying to find the best sled for the money. Thanks for any input!

I checked the 07 M7 but I believe they only made them in an M8 and that's the route I would go, and I'm coming off of a Doo. For Boondocking I have to go with the M

No m7 in 2007, you probably mean an m8.

Anyways, you have a lot on your list. What kind of riding do you do? What kind of sled are you looking for?

The 900 rmk's get a bad rap, but if you get the updates done and drop the weight they are a fun sled. Plus for the money you really can't beat it, they are dirt cheap even with a bunch of aftermarket part. If you are wanting to climb some hills in deep powder they will really shine.

M7, a fun light sled, not as snappy stock as the rest. But it is light and very flickable. For your price you should be able to find a really nice one, throw a head on do some clutch work and the power gets a lot nicer.

The Rev's, I would stay away from the 07's, engine issues. Fun to ride but a lot different chassis then the cats and polaris. Some like it and others don't. Very nice ride on the trails and good all around sled. Ring issues at 2000 miles so will need new pistons if not already done.

My husband, friend and I had all three sleds for the last couple of years and really it just comes down to personal preference on which one you like better.

Yeah I was thinking the M8 I am a mountain rider more boondocking than climbing. But I still like a hill or two.

I voted for the 900 because thats what I got and I was on a tight budget. There are tons of these sled for sale with light weight mods and are still cheap.

I picked up mine for $4000 and it only had around 500 miles on it. I did stick about $800 into it making it reliable. People that don't have the 900 think there junk but people that have them and made them reliable won't ride another sled. Just my $.02

Really, have you rode a Rev 800?? I helped my friend rebuild his 900 this year and that has been my sled until I buy one this fall. He also has a '06 151 800 Rev, the difference is night and day. The 800 is a joy to ride, the 900 is a lot of work. Now if there are no trees, rocks, cliffs to be avoided then it is fine, but getting that thing to turn sometimes is interesting.

Pay attention on KSL ,08 XP 800's for that kind a money once in awhile.

hmmm...4500 budget....well bank 3500 of the 4500...buy the wife something for a grand...and then somehow she will let you increase your budget and she will please you in many ways for a little while till she figures out you hoodwinked her..but heck you will be on the mountain top with a 8000 dollar sled by then and she will be in the laundy room fuming with the new 1000 dollar washer and dryer that you bought her to get the more expensive sled

In those years and that budget I would get a Doo doo hands down. The Polaris is a bit of a lumber wagon and the Cats are slow with awful suspensions in those years.

The Poo or the Cat can be great....but they will need mods in those years to be as fun to ride as the Doo.

Depends what you want. If your a bigger guy looking for big power, I would consider the RT1000. It will hand any of your other choice their a$$ no problem, and they are VERY cheap. Just a few issues but as long as they are worked out they cannot be beat for the money. Otherwise 06 rev 800 for sure.
