Well I have a new boss seat on my Polaris and I hate to say the quality compared to my old boss seat sucks,I've takes 4 rides so far and:

1) 2 zippers have broken the tabs off..they are just junk pot metal, U guys should use the good ykk HD zippers, they dont break(look at a Klim nac-pac,GREAT zippers!!)

2) in 2 areas the stiching is starting to go out already.

I have had my old boss seat on my APEX for years and beat the living crap out of that sled with ZERO issues, yeah the new seat costs half as much but its only 1/4 of the seat the old one was. I will gladly pay 700 bucks for a seat that has nice AMERICAN made components that dont break !!!

The new seat is a very nice design and "sits" well but you guys at Boss need to build it like the old seat with some quality components and forget the Chinese garbage. IT sucks.....:mad:

Also just give me one nice big pouch and the heck with all the stupid compartments and dumb tow strap...if you want to give away a strap at least use the tow kit by sno-bungie...it flat works GREAT

I like my seat, my only complaint is my zippers. They broke off on the first ride after I installed it. Pretty annoying. Does Boss have a warranty or anything? They will be getting a call from me........

 Now you tell me Bill. I just ordered a Boss seat last week but thanks for the heads up on the zippers.

my seat is also going down hill pretty fast, i emailed boss and they told me i can either send it in now and get it fixed up or i can wait till the end of the season and they will take care of it, so as long they do so , i will be happy

I broken zipper pull on my 2010 boss already, a little fraying on the back bottom pouch, and the snow sticks to the seat like crazy. I really like the new skinz seat, but they only make it in 2 inch rise for the crossfire.

Holy crap those are expensive seats. Those things better be made of gold and make me breakfast for that price!

Prices are canadian dollars....if you want cheaper then you found the seat we are talking about in this thread:eek:

i had a mountian mod last year, sold it to buy a boss, the seat was good quality but the snow stuck to the sides like crazy and the storage sucked , same as stock everything got wet and beat up in the truck, also it was higher than stock but the foam was so soft that by the time you sat on it you sunk 2 inches

nice seat but no storage

They make a storage bag that goes under the seat and is removable so you can ditch the weight before a pull or if you don't have an enclosed trailer you can take it off at night and carry it into the house or hotel.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune with BOSS. If you decide to switch it out take a look at the WRP +2 conversion or depending on the model the Freestyle seat for the Edge. American made and high quality.

Good luck!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha :D

no.
I had some zipper problems with my 2010 seat so I sent them an email last week and asked what could be done. I am very pleased with their customer service.....I wouldn't under estimate their "new" customer service. It seems as though they've turned over a new leaf. I strongly recommend that if you are having ANY problems with your seat, send BOSS an email and see what they'll do for you. (no I am not a paid spokesman, just a pleased customer;))

Sounds like they are making some upgrades for the 2011 seat zippers.

Some friends and I ordered 6 2010 BOSS seats and so far all of them have had broken zippers and/or stitching problems. Quality is suspect to say the least. I heard that the seats were assembled in the US but the covers were made overseas, that is the reason for using cheap parts and some have a bad fit (xp seat). Needless to say after this season they will be sent in for repair.

Spoke with Boss yesterday. They know there is a problem and are willing to help fix it. They want me to send in the seat when I am done riding for the year and they will replace the entire seat cover with a new updated 2011 cover with quality zippers that have the nice seal like on coat zippers etc. They will charge $50.00 to do this, but give you a coupon for $100.00 off a new seat in the future. I would rather send it in for free, but will spend the $50.00 to get it fixed. Sounds like their customer service is improved. The person I spoke with could not have been any more helpful.

Yup also called...they have stepped up to the plate...ill send that baby in for 50 and get it recovered !!!

Thanks Boss !!!
