I have worn the comercial Baffin boots and they are very comfortable. But the boot I had was not for being on a sled so they were bulky.

Are you high?

Well Ive road dirtbike for 30 years with running shoes.Never hurt my ankles.Only got a real pair of snowmobile boots last year and before that rode with every kind of boot made from rubber boots to sorels to hikers didnt matter never broke my ankle. So I guess its not important to me.

Bought Whitetail Hunters form Cabela's 1200 gram and couldn't be happier. $149.

I've been very happy with hunting/work boots.
I also like the idea that since I wear them for more than sledding, they will
need replacement more frequently. That way, I'm always in fairly new boots.
I've had a pair of Trukke's for over 10 years and I wish they'd wear out so I wouldn't feel bad tossing them.

Ive worn Snowboard boots for the last 10 years!! Great fit!! Warm, Not bulky!! Great support!! Sure they cost alot but so do klims and hmk!! And ive gotten 4 years out of my last pair!!

All I am saying is there is alot of choices out there and for anyone just getting into the sport they shouldnt feel they need to run out and buy a 400 dollar pair of snowmobile specific boots because they probably have a pair in the closet that will work fine and that money could be used for a beacon or something else.

Excellent reply!

When I started riding, I just used my snowboard boots...they were a bit too stiff for me but still worked. Then switched to a pair of Columbia Sportswear...not bad but not a ton of support. Then bought a pair of the older Klims at a snow show...they were just like snowboard boots, 2hrs of riding and I sold em (I'm told the newer styles are much better). So now I'm back to a pair, 3 pair actually, of Columbias (-30 thinsulate and waterproof), closeout priced at $24/pair!!!!:D Hey, when you have a size 15 foot, you buy em all when you find something that fits:D

What boots are $400? Klim adrenalines are an excellent boot and retail is $169.95
