new 2010 polaris sled

it looks crazy front heavy but I'm guessing the engine is right below the bars. It's definitely different but maybe it'll grow on all of us. Truth is, if it works and kicks the chit outa everything else on the trails, x-country races & snowcross that will change a lot of minds. One step closer to a motocross syle suspension.

I don't think there is any plan to have this be the next king of the mountain.

ew..after seeing a full picture of it..that thing looks doofy as hell. looks like they are thaking the Phazer route..trying to get a sled as close to a dirtbike as possible.
even more dissapointed :(

In one of the videos it looks like it has a rad in the front where a skid plate should go... if this is true i cant see that beeing very durable for anything off trail.. (bush and crusty snow)

If they make the mountain version the same with only a longer track, how in the heck will you pick the back end up when you get it stuck. Looks Impossible to lift in present form.

Why would you lift the back up to get unstuck? I haven't lifted the back of a sled to get unstuck for years..... there is better ways to get out.

We all want to see manufactures come up with new ideas and when they do we all laugh at them.
I say if it works good for the mountains and it is light then bring it on. If not then go back to the drawing board.

Looks like they copied the XP to me.. The windshield, front bumper, the angle look. Might work as well...

Looks like a Vector Crossed with an XP:eek:, Whatever it is they need to go back to the drawing board! Glad its not the mountain sled or that would rule out polaris for me

I personally like the looks alot. It looks sharp and light imo. But if you look right under the front bumper there is a radiator, and yes it will be durable, motorcycles have them on both sides and they get wrecked all the time and the radiators hold up just fine. This new chassis should prove to be the ultimate for rough trail. It has everything going for it in the suspension department. Only time will tell

I don't care what anybody says about this sled, Polaris is pushing this sport to the limit. I haven't seen any other of the big 4 come out with anything like this yet, granted, they are probably working on it, but Polaris is the first to come out with it. Like every other sled in its first year, sure its going to have its problems, but with all the R&D that went into this sled and how radicle it is, there are bound to be problems. I'm very happy with Polaris for comming out with something that is potentially earth shattering. If it works great Polaris will be praised, if it fails, Polaris will fall. It has the potential to fail like the Fusion did. But this industry is a high risk high reward type of system, and Polaris is the first to put their neck on the line for progression of the sport. As to everybody trying to figure out what it looks like, it looks like a cross between a Rev XP and an Polaris Wedge style body. I personally love it.

You have obviously never been stuck in tight trees where rolling it over, going any further forward or spinning it around between 2 trees the width of your skis is an option. But if you have the miracle cure for not ever lifting the rear up again please do tell.
