why is the 09 m1000 that much better than the 08?

The 09 has many reasons why its better than the 08, but the power plant is basically the same. i have rode with a guy with the 08 he's a great rider and two years ago when it was brand new he spanked everyone that year. This year his buddy bought a 09 1000 and i rode with them again the guy on the 09 1000 is not as good of a rider and guess what the guy on the 08 still spanks him without all the options. You will enjoy the 08 but the 09 has its advantages compare them and make your decision. I have a 08 m8 and love it, it is lighter now than the 09 m8 and has more power i still have lots to do to it but for me thats the fun part. I wouldn't worry to much about the adjustable post if yours doesn't have it buy a 3 or 4 inch riser, you will be happy with the 08 but may wind up wishing you bought the 09 shop around, but going with your local dealer may sometimes be worth the extra couple bucks. The 09 is like a new chassis it works so much better I had a 07 piped m1000 that would beat all the 08's with the same pipe, My 09 with just a slp can beat the 07. I put the pipe on the 09 and a few more extras and beat some poor running turbos. You would be better off with a 09 m8 than a 08 m1000, the 09 sleds are so much easier to handle and the lighter weight makes them go farther. If you buy the 08 and get to ride a 09 you will regret it.
i know where you can get an 08 M1000 for $6995... its in the middle of minnesota but it might be worth the extra miles.... Go to www.catbargains.com search around there.
There price on the '08 M1000 162 is $7795.00. They have an '07 M1000 162 for $6795.00. Better still they have an '09 M1000 153 for $8995.00.
i would try to find a good price on a used 09 over a new 08. the upgrades are worth it.
