Need some help identifying something

Hey guys, my friend bought a new sled this past week, it is a 2003 pro x 440 racer, with the 92 heads and trail converted but still premix, we were lookin it over and noticed by the coolant bottle sort of, more towards the gas tank, there is a block with a dial on it, i have no clue what this is or what it does, anybody know? thanks

That is used to change the timing. The different marks on it are different timing settings to advance or retard it. These are used on the ProX's and the IQR's. You will want to learn a lot about what changes this makes before you try just turning it to see what it does.. That could have some serious consequences..
