Need Some Gen 2 Carb Help

Alright boys here is the skivy. My buddy that I work with rides a mostly stock 2001 600 rmk. Great condition very clean well cared for. So this fall he tries to get it going for the winter and it didnt want to fire up very well. He got it going eventually by priming the cylinders. Now it starts up on full choke, warms up on half choke, and when you pull the choke off it run for 20-30 seconds then pops and spits backfiring to an eventaul death. My first thought was plugged Jetting causing a lean situation once the choke is removed, so I pulled the fuel bowls and cleanned the already very clean jets and obviously It was not the culprit. Any help with this would be great other wise I will send him to the powersport guy and see what he finds.

This is a classic example of plugged pilots.

The stock water traps on the bottom of the carbs deteriorate over time causing small bits of the hose to get into
the carb and plug little holes, I.E. pilot andmain jets... I learned this the hard way.

Take them apart again and clean again, then replace the water traps while you are there. Don't forget to pull the float needle as particles
can get trapped up in there as well.
