Need some advice on turbos

I have a 2007 D7 with a pipe and some cluitching, also I installed the new npfi boss noss kit. I love the power from the nitrous, and it is a good kit, but now I want that power all the time. Anyways long story short, I have a chance to get a real good deal on a sps turbo system with everything, but I don't know alot about the system other then it is the automotive turbo 2860. I had my mind set on the silber, but any help would be appreciated.

Adam, I have the same sled and it had NOS for 2 years. I wanted that power all the time. So I went with Silbers kit. You can't beat the price anywhere. He stands behind his product and will help you all the way. It is a simple install and you will not be disapointed. You will need to keep the front end down so either deal with stock suspension which was a hand full keeping skiis planted so you can steer when climbing or get aftermaket like Timbersled or Holz. I don't know anything about the SPS, but just going to there website there is some issues.

They call out in their parts list a garrett auto turbo, but their install instructions and photos clearly shows the Aero turbo.

If they can't even change their install directions, would you really trust they would give any kind of support?

I don't know, maybe they are killer. You can get a lot of info on a builder just by poking around their website.

I have a silber turbo on a 08 D7! I love it I add oil gas and ride all day. I have not had 1 issue with his set up!!!

Do you think its really 60 hp like boss noss claims? How much higher can you high mark with nitrous? I have a d8 and I am thinking about getting the kit.

Are you guys that are running silbers kit going with the tunnel dump exhaust or running it out the bottom? I kind of want to do the tunnel dump to keep the sound down but im not overly fond of cutting a big hole in the tunnel. Suggestions?

the kit i just purchased is a belly dump wich is louder than the tunnel dump but i also didnt like the idea of cuting a hole in my tunnel. but silber has bolth tunnel/ belly

i rode with 3 silber turbos this week. they rock! no lag. very impressed and looking into kit for next year. justin is very professional and wants his product to work.

Are you guys that are running silbers kit going with the tunnel dump exhaust or running it out the bottom? I kind of want to do the tunnel dump to keep the sound down but im not overly fond of cutting a big hole in the tunnel. Suggestions?

The exhaust out the bottom is very comparable to twin pipes. Little deeper tone to it though.

What turbo to get?

HI,

I have read as many threads as I can and am trying to get as much info as I can on different turbo kits. I am considering getting a BD pump gas with the mini-intercooler. What has peaked my interest is the silber turbo kit because of price. But then I have a voice telling me that you get what you pay for. I will tell you why I am leaning toward a BD kit versus the silber kit, but I want to hear others opinions. From what I understand BD has an electronic waste gate controlled by the EBC with a digital readout. Seams like that is a great safety feature so you don't over-boost. I also like the mini-inter-cooler so you get more HP and any given boost.

The silber kit is definitely more attractive because of the price. How do you control the boost on their kit? Do the have an option for electronic boost control? Once its setup properly, do you ever have to adjust it? Do they have a option for inter cooler?

I have two friends that have BD pump gas kits. One has a intercooler and one doesn't. Running on the same boost, the one with the inter-cooler has a very noticeable more hp. Do they have an option for inter cooler? They both haven't touched the setup since they got them and they run awesome!

So, with that being said I just want to hear others options why you think I should buy silber kit instead, what is better about their kit? Thanks for your time. I am not trying to pick a fight, I just want to hear from those that bought a silber kit why they bought it versus others on the market. Thanks for your info!

I have Justins kit and it is a awsome set up! You adjust the boost by the turn of the knob on the boost tee. That is up to you you can leave it or add or subtract boost. I didn't know BD had a electronic boost controller maybe it is on the areo charger if so they don't last and they will cost you a arm and a leg to rebuild. You could put a inner cooler in you might have to change the boost pipe I'm not sure but Justin can give you the run down on it, like everyone else has said and it is true he is always willing to answer your questions and is good about returning your call.

i have silbers kit so fare so good. he also knows bd kits better than the people selling them so one way or another he will be giving you advice thats just my .2 an intercooler isnt nessary on his kit i run with a few frieds that have bd kits and i will go anywhere they do hands down one friend already got rid of his cooler. also bd boxes are alot harder to tune than attitude boxes

1badcowboy was that you that was racing with us on saturday this is larry with the silver dragon my boondocker turbo kit and box work great as you can contest to and is simple to run .but i dont think you could go wrong with either the silber kit or the boondocker kit really happy with boondocker kit though thaks larry.
