Hey guys. I recently left the directional drilling company I was with to go consulting for another company. Ive been debating between operating as a sole proprietorship vs. a corporation. Im leaning towards a corporation because of the tax sheltering opportunities, and because of the liability protection. I plan to directional drill in the winter, and contract (fence and deck construction, roofing, renovations, etc) in the summers.
Can I run these two different businesses under the same corporation? eg. Deans Contracting Ltd. ? Should a guy do this at a lawyers office? It seems like I can save quite a bit of money by just going down to the local registry office and setting one up there.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
