Need opinions on 4x4 quads

Looking to buy a couple new quads for my wife and I and would like to hear opinions from you folks cause I really don't know alot about em. Right now I'm thinking a Poo 850 XP and a Poo 550 XP but am pretty much open to anything. Thanks:beer;

Andy!

I agree with the Polaris lineup, very nice toys IMO.

Also check out the new CanAm's, both are very good machines.

i havent heard a whole lot about the new popos yet. the 550/850 should have lots of power and no longer sound like a weed wacker

i have a can-am renegade 800. been a great quad. the shocks help out lots. can ride with the 4x4s one day and chase the sportys the next

only problem i see with the renegade is that i seem to wear the mud instead of keeping it on the puddles. some of that has to do with the offset

Do yourself a favor & see if your dealer will let you use a Ranger XP for a weekend, I know my wife, kid & everyone else that gets into it. Just my save you some money in the long run.

My '07 Yamaha 700 Grizzly is a fantastic machine.
I absolutely love the elctric assist power steering. Just straight trail running it gets 20 MPG.Very nimble and stable for a big machine.
No problems so far.

My choices would be in this order..
Yamaha griz = power reliability comfort
Can Am 800 = power mostly
Honda 500 = reliability, work horse but lacks power
My #1 choice, Rhino 700 loads of fun for more than one...
good luck on your purchase ...

I bought an 08' Suzuki King Quad 750 last year and I love it! Zero problems so far and its been in some pretty nasty mudholes. I've only put on 27" Swamp lites on it for now but I'm looking into doing the injector/VDI mod. Its supposed to really wake the King up. My two cents:)

i always had very good luck with my polaris sportsman. i have rode alot of other machines and for the most part they are all good machines. the reason i chose polaris is that they had the most ground clearance, most suspension travel, no levers to hold for diff lock, strong axles from the factory and reliable. what i didnt like is that polaris used to be the heaviest machine out there.(not sure on the new ones). all this was a couple years ago, things may have changed but my polaris was great for me. ride them all and see what you like. that is the best way to choose.

got a grizz 660 and love it!!!!!!!!! ride a couple and see which one you like the best. also, which dealer is closer, easier to deal with, etc. that should play a big part in your decision too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Polaris has the second highest warranty claims in the industry.......I'll let you guess at the number one spot (hint, meow).

You have a 900 RMK and your considering buying one of their ATV's........WTH!!!!

We Went and tested all of them out last year. toyed with the idea which ones too buy. and ended up Buying Two 2008 Suzuki king quad 750. they where the ones that we liked the best the Polaris was to hard to turn. and the ride was not the best. Kawasaki was nice, we thought about them! Honda ok but to high priced. Yamaha, the power wasn't that Impressive. Both My husband and I we decided on getting two of the Suzuki 750 AXI they have been unbelievable!!! we have just loved them... it was hard to decided but after playing on them that's the way we went...

Be sure to get the electric power steering if you chose the 850 and 550. We don't have enough time on our 550 and 850 yet to know much about them but so far so good. The one thing to be changed out will be the tires on the 850. I need to find something a lot more aggressive than the stockers.

We also have the Ranger XP and it's held up very well. Like Gainster was saying they are great for the family.

Ride em before you buy em

You wouldn't buy a car with out test driving it would you, I would recommend doing the same with the quads, I rode every thing in 05 when I bought my brute force 750, I decided on it because it was light weight, lots of power and handled great, It didnt ride the best and probably has the hardest seat I have ever sat on but for the money it was by far the best choice for me, If I had to go out and buy one tomorrow, There is no dought in my mind it would be the same thing. Its been a great quad no regrets.

My $.02 is ride as many as you can and decide on which one best fits your needs.

my 03 sportsman 500 is a P.O.S. always seems to be something wrong with it. I've heard good things about the grizzlies and the brute forces.

My buddies 800 poo is always in the shop and a few weeks ago i exploded the front diff on my brute 750, I would go either grizz 700 or cam am 800

There all great like the others have said get out and try them before you buy and pick a dealer that is close in case you have warranty work or parts . I have had great luck with Polaris sportsman's and scramblers. I would also look at the can am renegade, Its a really fun machine.

i have 2 500 sportmans, an 00 and an 06, both have been super bikes, the 00 has 8k miles:)

sorry. i must have bought a lemon. just always seems to be one thing after another, but i guess that goes with pretty much anything, some are good, others are bad.
