Need opinions/experiences on 07 ski doos!!

hey, so im looking at purchasing a 2007 summit SDI 600 144, or a 2007 summit
800 151. the 800 is not the xrs, just the normal stock one. im looking for some opinions on the engines, i heard problems with the 800s, but i also heard some good things. anyone help? all comments and storys are much appreciated
thanks guys!

I have an 07 800 X it had been a really good sled aside from some clutching issues that Ski doo has been taking care of until Sat. when the engine let go. No idea yet what happen, will take it to the shop tomorrow. Last season there were five of us in our group that bought these. One guy is on his fifth motor and I just blew my first one. the rest have all been ok, one guy has 1400 miles on his. Mine went at 7000 plus feet for no real reason and was not really even getting on it hard, I had just completed a fairly decent pull of 45 seconds or so, but had let it cool down for ten minutes and then took off. When about half mile and that was all she had, broke a piston or something that took out the spark plug, changed it and it ran for about another 15 miles trying to limp it back to the truck and then it really let go, anti-freeze everywhere. funny they don't run on water very well at all.

Overall I have been really happy with the sled, love the way it handels and goes down the trail, side hills and boondocks. Just sucks when the motor goes quiet, but I'm hoping them put one of the new 08 motors in it and all will be good again.

I think they are both good sleds, It all depends where you ride and what you expect out of your sled. If you ride really steep and deep and are more on the wild side prob the 800 if not the 600 is a good sled and easy on fuel.

The 600 SDI are rock solid. I use them for my tours. I have more problems with my 800 that I ride than all my 600's put together.

1590 miles on my 07 summit x 800r. Great sled, no major issues, boondocks and climbs great with the powdermax track and does great on fuel. Had an 06 800HO summit before, the adrenaline model. It blew 4 belts in 1400 miles, 3 chains and would run out of gas in deep pow at 40-45 miles.

I prefer the 07 hands down for the 800's. The 600s always seem to have good reps, cant go wrong with either IMO with a good dealer.

we tested a 07 and 08 800 along with a 1000 doo in bellybutton deep powder, switching off all day long, the 1000 had a can and 162, 800s were 151,154

with a rolling start at the bottom of the hill, the 1000 would get out front and pull the others. from a stop, the 08 would get a jump on the 1000, but was neck and neck with the 07; too close to call most of the time. BUT, the 08 "felt" way faster- would have bet large amounts of $ that it was::rolleyes: until they lined up- pretty much even!!

my buddy LOVES his 06?600- gets around where his brothers 06 800 rev does, he just has to get a little creative sometimes... They both prefer the 600 for fun factor, but on long hills, it gets dusted.

I absolutley love my 07 800r c/w a 144 track. It is so easy to sidehill. It makes me look like an ok rider.

bad news is, 3rd ride out ( I bought is used), engine completely let go. Knocked a big chunk of the case right out. It is 1 month after warranty. Waiting to see if BRP is going to provide a short block under warranty. The shop seems to think they will.

thanks guys. im coming off a big engine and track, so im looking for the fun factor (light little sled to throw around). i think the 600 will be the ticket.
