Need New Ski - Options

Hey guys, i've tried to do lots of reading on this topic, but can't seem to find too much

2011 KTM 250 XC with a 2moto kit on right now. I absolutely love it, the problem I have is I have a Gen1 Simmons ski, and its awesome in the powder but very poor on trails, i have a little addition that fills in the ski and puts 2 little blades in the middle, which is AWESOME on the hardpack, but terrible in powder.

I was originally planning on having 2 different ski's, a powder ski and a trail ski, but i see now the newer ski's are generally designed to be all-around good skis.

Now my options are:

2Moto Gen2 Powder Ski

Curve XS

Timbersled Backcountry

The TS is currently out of stock, and I'm leaning towards the Curve

Does anyone have any opinions?

Curvw XS

Curve is a developed and proven production ski and is what Frozen MOTO uses and we sell them nationally for snow bikes and have them in stock and ready to ship.

here's hope'n

waiting to try my buds new Mtn hoss skiis when they show. getting tired of drilling and modifying verlin simmons brainchild to work on a motorcyle when he build them to work on a..............welll not sure what they work on, won't ride a sled with them installed, except to load on a trailer, they work good for that.

jmo

this is my opinion and some feedback i got from friends this weekend on my home built ski. IT ROCKS!! I have used this ski on both my bike and hawk and it works real good, is easy to trail ride and go fast with. Jumped on buddys hawk to ride down trail with gen2 ski on it and crashed in 20 feet. I have tried alot of stuff with gen 2 and never had good luck, they are not trail ski's period.
I cant wait to try the timbersled ski too but really like what i have come up with.

great pics thanks for sharing. I like the way you utilized SNOW technology and side with a center carbide to achieve great handling. Your definitely in the right track... The center channel also gives it rigidity which correlates to predictability not "flex" nice to see others understanding the snow technology being used.

Ski evolution

What do you have attached at the outer edges of the skis? Also, how long is your center keel/carbide?

Have been thinking of using a kids snowboard to try the same basic idea.

Just a bit worried about breakage.

I do have a ski coming (MH kit Its payed for) I try the new ski first if it falls short of my expectations this will be the next project.

so have you ridden the curve xs and this new ski mtn doo?

I don't have first hand experience with the curve xs, but the new Mountain Horse I do. It is well worth waiting a couple weeks for. Those wanting a thoroughly tested and superb Snowbike Ski, they will be available soon. Dealer snow-check orders shipping first. Then available for single sales.

This is what I run. Pay 20 bucks for a snowboard at a pawn or used gear shop. I like it in case u cant tell its a gen 1 with snowboard on top. I'm sure most guys think it ghetto but I like it. I would like to purchase the new t sled ski when its available as im sure its better. Thist handles better on the trail than gen 1 solo (due to the sidecut and flattening out of the ski) and really floats. the nose is wider than the tail causing the front to naturally rise. Not saying its that great, but it is a cheap way to improve the gen 1. Also im working on a ski that is 2 gen 1's bolted together and a center keel similar to the new tsled ski. Some hawk guys run this and seem to like it. I have 2 of these that I ran all last year, the first one started to fold in a spot but is still holding together, I ride ALOT!

I switched to Les's ski after running the Gen 2 all weekend, I swithed for the Saturday afternoon ride and couldn't believe the difference. Didn't fall over in the powder and could control it on the trail and was going twice as fast on the trail with ski. I am having him make me one I was that impressed.....
