I have a 2003 mountain cat 900, and I was cleaning my power valves and saw some scoreing on pto side piston, and the other side looked great. I don't know why or what would cause this but I don't want it to come apart on me on the mouthain. Has anyone heard or have experience with SPI pistons they are about 65 bucks cheaper for a kit than wisco. what should I go with? don't want to put low quality into the motor. sled only had 1500 miles on it. thanks in advance!

New Pistons

I have had the best luck with Arctic Cat O.E.M. units. They cost more but worth the price in my opinion.:face-icon-small-coo

wiseco pistons are forged and in theory more resisitant to vibration not quite as resistant to over heating.

spi cast, more bittle but heat resistant.

Got an 800 or 900 motor with stock jetting with carbs, I'd stick with cast piston...........so stock or spi. Carbed version are always lean and dry running unless somehas has gotten after that problem.

got an efi motor stock, wiseco is good, more risistant to the rattling the skirts off some 800/900 owners have experienced.

Cat just started offering top end kits they come with everything except wrist pins they are priced very reasonably. I have picked up a few of these from Michelle from Oregon trail sports

If you don't go OEM spi is the way to go imo
