need help with older four wheeler

Got a mid nineties polaris 425 four stroke. Quit running pulled it all apart and still stumped Heres what I have done so far
has spark and will fire and run with starting fluid so pulled the car apart and cleaned it still nada suspected fuel pump so replaced that still nothing. it is getting gas to the carb cuz I can open the drain and the bowl has gas. Thanks

I would say that your carb is still gummed up then. it doesnt take much to kepp it from running. I just went through that myself with an old warrior. Took it apart and cleaned it once....nothing....took it apart and cleaned it the second time and it runs like crazy! Found some more junk in the pilot.

umm ya had the same problem with a 20 horse mercury outboard. Could not get it to run, it would go on starter fluid for a little bit, chug and die. Had spark, worked on it and worked on it, plugs were wet everytime we pulled them out. Had some mechanics come look at it, no one could figure it out....found out that when i went to mix the gas for it, and what the old man said was a five gallon tank of gas, turned out to be five gallons of diesel fuel (and i dumped a pint of oil on top of that). I tried really hard to have the first diesel 20 horse mercury, but i failed. Took most of the summer to get all that diesel worked out of it, we had our own bug fogger!

Take the carb completely apart. Meaning pilots and everything that comes out of the thing. On some of the stuff make sure you count the number of turns from the seat, most that is the fuel screw and air screw. Generally it's somewhere in the .75 to 1.5 turns out? Just a general idea at least.

I would let it soak in carb cleaner overnight and then clean it with q'tips or a piece of safety wire and so on. The ports are so tiny that any fuzz will basically do this.

Is there a cracked carb boot on this thing? That can do the same thing because it will be too lean with a big slice in it.
