need help with my 07 m8

i have a 2007 m8 with d&d y-pipe, pipe and can and i have a boondocker fuel system. my sled had a knock to it only when iam full throttle i can ride it around just fine until i hit full throttle then it knocks its nothing i can hear just something i feel i have ripped apart my track and checked my bearings but everything seems fine. iam getting extreamly frusterated with it would love some help does anyone have any ideas ?

so you can't hear the motor knocking/missing and there is no loss of power, you just feel it through the chassis? this may sound stupid but have you checked your snow flap? my buddy with the same sled as you kept stopping on the road the other day saying his skid/track felt like it was vibrating apart every time he went wide open on the throttle. couldn't see anything wrong so we kept riding and sure enough when he punched it i saw the snow flap suck up into the track and when he let off the throttle it would pop back out. would say it was more of a nasty vibration than clunking but just a thought....

otherwise you might check the DD to see if its self destructing, although it seems people report hearing more whinning and then just a boom....

hey thanks ive never thought about checking my flap but this knocking almost kills my power but the motor still sounds fine an everything it doesnt miss. its the wierdest thing its almost the same feeling as when im ratcheting or something but i know thats not it cause i have tightened my track quite a bit

could you possibly have a flat spot in your belt, it will feel like a thump...

Your sled has anti-ratchet drivers, you don't want to run your track too tight or it will cause bad things to happen. When you lift the back your track should sag about an inch an inch in the middle

Im with m8magicandmystery
Try running a higher octane gas! And see if it helps? Did it just start or has it been doing it for a while? Have you always gassed up at the same place?

hey thanks and ya i have tried higher octain gas and gassed up several different places and ya it did this to me all last year it just kinda started one day and i can ride down the trails fine its just the second i go to hit full throttle it knocks so i have never heard of a knock sensor how do i go about fixing it ?

i just went to the machanic at the local arctic cat dealer and he said that the knock sensor stops the sled from knocking it wouldnt create and knocking does anyone have anyother ideas

The knock sensor could still be bad! It retards timing when it starts to knock. So then you lose power! Do you have any codes flashing?

I wonder if somthing is loose and banging on the motor causing the knock! Then the sensor hears it and cuts timing?

i don't understand...he said the knock sensor stops the sled from knocking...so shouldn;t a failed sensor allow a knock..??...if its failed..??
