Need help to identify this head

F
Can anyone tell me who makes this head and how can I tell what compression it is? The previous owner told me to run half and half race fuel in the mountains, and full race fuel at low elevations. 03 RMK 700. I'd like to know for sure.

That's just the head cover you have pictures, no telling what domes lie underneath

Yes - Polaris sold several cover versions to spiff up the look of the motor. Take all the head bolts out, the cover will lift off separate from the head (it has an o-ring to hold the coolant that flows across the head)

If it's an after market head like SLP it will be in 3 pieces, 2 separate domes and a skull around the outside. If it's SLP the domes can be lifted out individually and will have a part number.

Their web site will help you determine if they are indeed high altitude heads.

SLP also sells domes for us flatlanders as I have a set on my 800. You can then replace the domes with the high altitude version for going to the mountains.

The flatlander version is 91 octane but if you use the high altitude heads at our elevation, you need the race gas mix.

Be sure and drain down the antifreeze a little so it does not go into your motor.
