Need help for going out west

Hey guys,

So I am completely new to snowbikes. I have ridden sleds my whole life but wanted to try a bike. I went and bought a 2018 YZ450F with a Camso kit. My question is does anything need to be done to the clutching or fueling? On sleds you would have to change clutch weights and what not. Anything will help. Thanks!

There is nothing to change, the bike is efi so the fuel is covered and you are doing the shifting so nothing to do with the clutch. Make sure you get a gas can on the skid as the bikes don’t go near as long as you think they would on a tank of gas. There are plenty of mods you can do but it will ride just fine like it is. Good luck.

Agreed spare gas can and would not go crazy on upgrades if you are just visiting the West... Bring some oil to change every ride or so without a stat if it is cold... But it has been so warm in Utah you would not even need one this year unfortunately

I had started with 5W-30 and now have a 0W-40. Otherwise, I also have FI and didn't need to do anything other than install an outerwears filter skin and left the foam air filter at home.

Maybe you already have it covered but, most important is engine temp control. Gotta keep it warm or the oil will be full of gas.
