Need help (Dodge PU Mechanic)

Gauges quit, odometer starts reading mileage, then, goes to
no bus??? ABS light staying lit, MIL indicator staying lit,
I think it is a code, but, what is wrong and how do I fix it?

Thanks

what year?

My '01 did that a couple times...both times it was the connectors on the PCM on the firewall (pax side behind the airbox)...one was loose and wasn't getting good contacts. Check those connectors, also check the one on the ECM on the drivers side of the engine.

to check for codes, on '00 year and newer: key on, key off, key on, key off, key on...codes will show in the odometer window.

It's an 02, I have been searching around truck forums
and they seem to agree with you, I will go check all the connections.
thanks.

edit....checked and cleaned everyting including batt connections....no change

All the gauges quit? we had something similat when all gauges quit the cam sensor was going bad. Dodge as weird wiring they tie stuff to all kinds of thing.

I had that on my 01 one day. Took it to a small garage and the guy says pop the hood. I do, he pulls the cover off the main fuse panel, and starts rubbing his finger over them. Says fire it up and see if it cleared. It did. He claimed that that was his fix for about 99% of them that he saw with that problem. Never done it again. Aparently one of the mains was not getting a good connection. That's my No Bus dodge ram story.

^^^^ This, or, fully disconnect and then reconnect all the PCM and ECM connections...blow them out, etc. No bus = no computer connection for some reason. It doesn't matter which computer, just one of them.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I already dis-connected and blew out every connection and re-connected to no avail....I guess it'll go in to the
dealer Monday....

Once again, thanks.....

Bad news, the cluster is bad...$$$$$ oh well, cheaper than a new truck
I'm having them do a bunch more PM's that I have been too lazy to do
myself also, but, I should be good for another 100K or so after this.

thanks again for the suggestions.
