Need Help! $1,000 loyalty rebate

I
I traded my 11 pro rmk 800 on a 12 pro rmk 800. Dealer tells me I will receive a $1,000 loyalty rebate in the form of a $1,000 prepaid visa card. Sled comes in, I go to pick up sled. Dealer hands me a satisfaction rebate form, and we have ourselves a conversation about how he told me it was a loyalty rebate, and never mentions restrictions. The form states that I had to purchase the 2011 snowmobile prior to 2/28/2011, no big deal because I bought it in November 2010.I send it in. It's turned down immediately and they quote the reason is because I didn't buy the sled soon enough, and I call my dealer. That was 3 weeks ago, and they're still jerking me around. What do you think I should do?

The rebate states that you are supposed to purchase your new sled within 1 year of the date you bought your 2011. If you bought your sled in November of 2011 you should be OK since you bought your 2012 in October.

I am waiting to see how mine is going to turn out....snowchecked my 2011 and received it Oct 23 2011, snowchecked my 2012 in the spring of 2011 and the original ship date was Sept. 9th. Right before September 9th Polaris changed it to Nov. 3rd. That will be over my year but I have no control over that. My dealer says he has talked to his rep telling them of the situation for over a month now and my dealer keeps saying Polaris will have to eat it. We will see how this pans out...

kind of like this $100 rebate if you take delivery of your sled before 10/31. mine is not even shipping until 11/4. i will def give my dealer an earful if i don't get that.

So apparently this had to be post marked 12months or less from the day you bought the '11 that you're trading in... well after I read that, I dug through my old paper work and found my purchase agreement and saw I purchased my '11 on 10/25 which is TODAY. So I had to bust a$$ to fill it all out and make it to the post office after work before they closed. haha procrastination... reminded me of being in school again :plane:

aaannndd now I wait for 8-10 weeks for my $1000 snowmobile gas card... and snows already startin to come down in some places :face-icon-small-coo

To the OP, sounds like you have a case and are gettin jerked around. Keep on your dealer to resolve the matter... You were the 1st to "own" the sled in nov 2010 correct? You didn't buy it as someone else's snowcheck or something? Wondering if there's some paperwork loop hole for Polaris to get out of it that way... or if the dealer snowchecked it and they count as the sled's 1st owner so you wouldn't qualify or something... just thinking out loud here...

what rebate???

it was on thier website last week i think and its not there now. you had to take delivery by 10/31 and had until mid november to get the paper work back to polaris. it was for non-snowcheck i believe. which is me, i just reserved a pro from a local dealer back in june.

Want to bet the dates go off of 'warranty registration date'? If so, the dealer controls when that happens and may be causing you problems. Ask Polaris what date they think you bought it on.

I have heard of several people in the same boat. I think that's total crap if you get screwed out of $1,000 because Polaris wasn't able to deliver your sled soon enough. I'll be interested to hear if Polaris takes care of you and other's or not. Id have your dealer get a hold of the rep. I'd also get something in writing if you can. If enough people get caught in the same trap you'll see some bad reactions against Polaris.
Some one at Polaris needs to step up and do the right thing. Not sure why that's so hard for them! Especially if they want customers coming back to them.
Keep us posted!

what rebate???

It was an Email promo.

It is a $200 cash back if you purchase a 2012 by Oct 31, 2011. Then they will start the warranty Dec 1, 2011.

Bullcrap if you ask me considering that most dealers don't have any unsold sleds yet. I sent Poo a complaint with the typical canned response, again, bullcrap!

Trying to help here...

The $1,000 rebate was a satisfaction rebate if you were unhappy with your 2011.

Polaris wanted buyers of the first-year-release of sleds to rest-assured that they were buying a good sled right out of the gate and that Polaris was willing to put their money where their mouth was.

bigpumpkin...
What date does your purchase contract for your 2012 RMK say on it?

What date did you take delivery of your 2012?

When did you turn in your 2011 PRO RMK for trade-in?

What date did you purchase put your deposit on your 2011?

What date did you take delivery of your 2011 and activate the warranty?

It was my understanding the $1000 dollar rebate was only if you were totally unhappy with your 2011. If you were polaris would give you $1000 dollars toward a 2012. Maybe I am totally wrong, just what I remember. Thought it was kind of a satisfaction guarantee deal. Surely there is not to many unhappy pro owners out there.
