Need electrical help please, 07 600RMK carb

Plugged my cdi into my buddy's sled, and everything worked correctly on his sled, so I know my cdi is good. If these ac/dc converters weren't in such a bad spot, I would pull mine and plug it into his wiring.

Hmmm, I wonder if I did this anyways. The ac/dc converter is rivited to a plate, which is riveted to the tunnel. Which is a ground. If I were to get mine out, and plug it in to his wiring, what would be the best way to ground it while I was trying this?

can you get some alagator clip jumper wires from Radio Shark for the Ground?? Without being there it is a lot of guess work. Checking voltages from regulator are your best place to start. If they are wrong check incoming V. If that is Ok Then check Stator ohms with sled off.

Coming from a guy that has had every electrical component changed and some more the once I would AC/DC convertor.

I have had 3 different gauges and 3 different convertors. If the convertor is bad it will keep blowing the gauge.

This morning I took my ac/dc converter off, and for those of you who have done this, you know much it sucks to do that, and took it down to where my buddy has his sled at. I then unplugged his ac/dc converter, and plugged mine in to his wiring, using an alligator clip to ground it. His sled then did the same thing mine has been doing! Cool, so I ordered a new one, and that should be here next week.

Thanks to all!:beer;

Glad to hear you have it figured out. I think you got lucky with the underwater adventure.

BTW..how deep was the water your sled sunk in?

I've had the same issue.

On my 06' 600 rmk, I'll bet you another barley pop that your problem is that little black mother****** that's riveted to the bulkhead down under the airbox/disk break. My 6 had the exact same sickness you described, only my digital screen would flicker every now and then. If you can get your electical friend to help it's pretty easy to test the output of that multipurpose black devil. Mine was reading very low output, and normal input from the flywheel. Hope this helps.:beer;:beer;:beer;:D

New ac/dc converter is on, and everything is golden! Yeaahaw.

The new one gets mounted on top of the clutch guard, not on top of the bulkhead like the other one. For other guys that are having problems, and you can determine that the ac/dc converter is junk by testing it, order a new one, and just leave the old one where it is, just unplug it. It is not worth the time to take it out of there. Like I said the new one mounts on the clutch guard.

Here are two pics, one of where the old one mounted, and one of where the new one mounts.

Thanks for all the help guys!:beer;

Wire connector on new regulator

I'm assuming that the new regulator comes with a harness that has 2 connectors on one end and 1 connector on the other end....Does this new regulator have the same part # as the original ? How much did it cost ? Thanks for the picture and info

AWESOME thread! Thanks to all who posted, great info! I have a 600 RMK 07that my wife drives and you probably saved me hours of diagnostic time. Thanks again Sxrlar for starting this thread!!

Yes, the wiring harness has 2 connectors on one end, and one on the other. Cost is 200 dollars. The part number is 2203794, replaces old part number 4011440.
