Need apex motor!!!

Where can I get a low miles Apex Motor??

Need some help finding one fast but needing a low miles motor.

How much do brand new complete bolt in motors cost?

I'm pretty sure you can't buy a complete motor from Yamaha. What happened?

It was running fantastic and good safe a/f numbers.

Suddenly or as suddenly as I noticed the a/f shot up and before I could even really react. Chugga chugga sort of souded like the posibility of a belt banging around before it goes. I hit the key and came to a stop. Oil was running out the bottom of my sled like crazy and I feared the worst.

I was right. I found part of a rod, some chunks of motor casing, broken bolt.
I think it went lean all of a sudden but I could be wrong.

Where is recreational salvage?

I am having a lot of trouble getting registered on TY not sure what I did wrong.

Ski - If you could be so kind as to get me a phone number I will make some calls tomorrow.

Carp - I was running 17.4 lbs (at least that is what I had been running all day) we will know for sure when I hook a battery up to the boondocker box.

17.4 lbs boost, 89-91% on my fuel injectors, 122 degrees in my inner cooler, Good race Gas Sunoco 110, had added fuel to my PSI settings, everything was running great and real safe numbers too on the A/F until it went, right before it blew I noticed a significant increase in A/F numbers.

Does any one know how I could get a brand new motor? If so what would be the best price?

So far I have found a used RX1 for $1000 and an Apex motor with 1900 miles for around $2700.

4strokes dont usually blow up from going lean will pop allot but thats it, more than likely a bearing went probably the clutch side or one of the middle ones then the rod bolts come loose or snap off then:i know the feeling some times it happens even with good fuel i would say heat soak causes it most times.had you been riding hard for awhile?

I would just check with Yamaha about a new block, you might find it cheaper to replace the block with new rather than pay twice as much for a used engine. I'm sure there's a few guys that have had to do this on an Apex. Be careful buying a used engine especially if it is from a boosted sled, you could end up with another heap if they had a bunch of detonation Make sure you do a leak down test on a used motor.

How long have you been running boost on that motor?
Yamaha sometimes buys crate motors and stocks them, check with your local TSM, ask him to check, that's the way to get a motor.
