Need a skid that works? Got to try this!!

LMFAO!!!

I've been looking at the Exit shocks from Zbros and love what they offer...damn near any double thriple spring rate you want and they will revalve and spring if you dont like it

Yup Agree, Front suspension with ZBROZ getting done soon.
R.E./Baker Boys
Exit/ZBROZ
Common denominators. Both experts in their fields backed by a life time of expertise via vast testing. Both pick-up the phone and give you the straight-up goods. Other companies produce products that are less expensive but they rely on the R&D of cutting edge companies like these two.
Old fackers like me are expert evaluators of suspension products. If I'am able to put on my own socks in the morning that suspension is PRICELESS.
Air Shocks in sleds just plain SUCK. Coil overs all the way.

They have also invented a magnetic system to fast change the coupling block sliders. Cool Chit indeed

$1000 just for the shocks! Wow. Shows how much I know about this stuff.

Do you guys think Baker would sell just the rear brackets and arm? I have a set of Zbros res shocks in the garage off an 08 m1000 that have about 100 miles on them. Be cool if the C to C were the same and a guy could just use them.

You have a set of ZBROZ's rezzies hanging in the garage and think the Baker system is expensive:confused: Thats expensive and plain wastefull, bolt them on.

XO or X1's ?
Want to sell them?

Yeah, they came on a sled that I bought off of Tony Z. I switched back to the stockers before I sold the sled. Center Shock is an X0, rear is an X1. Looks like C to C is 11 3/8 on the front and 16 1/8 on the rear. Been meaning to see if they would fit into the XP skid all winter but havent got around to it. Im gonna give him a call and see if these shocks will work, and if he'd be willing to just sell the rear arm and bracket. If not, Ill throw these in the swapmeet. Ill pm you if I do.

Sorry, didnt mean to hijack the thread or call Baker down or anything. Like I said in my first post.......Ive heard nothing but good about his stuff.

..........and yeah, I know Im a cheap bast erd:D

It looks just like a copy of the M10 except there is no adjustment for shock angle which is a major thing for getting the M10 to ride just right.

Thats the point! Its not an M-10. Its a replacement for the stock rear suspension that actually works. And its fully adjustable. takes maybe 10 seconds to turn the clicker and your ready for the steep and deep. When your heading back to the truck on whooped out trails, another 10 seconds and your riding on a much smoother trail!

Here is a pic of triple black coming up Swenson St. with his Racers Edge setup. Enough said. I don't know much about EZ Ride, but I have never seen anyone with one go up the big chutes in Revy, and that goes for mt tamer as well. The way I look at it, is why not get something that you know works.

As far as price Spoon, why spend the extra grand if you don't have to. In my opinion a coilover is better than an air shock anyway. This has more adjustability than an M-10 and takes less time. If you have actually looked at one you would see it's a quality product.

This is strictly a prototype and is work in progress but so far has shown very good performance on turbo sleds.
It is the skid that Shane Stanger used to go up Monster at Big Iron.

Was with Shain at monster and only issue was the air shock had to be checked for pressure constantly. First pull it wheelied badly and it was found shock had leaked since day before. Maybe a coilover is the fix for keeping it constant. Other than that the skid worked great when shock had air in it.

Work in progress and we are trying several combos including a coilover.
Thanks Kevin

what's the cost of this new kmod setup?? get ready to tack on another thousand bucks for a shock that will work. what price we at now?? that's the problem with most(i didn't say all) other skids is that "the only issue we had" excuse comes up. lots of skids out there are great at either booning or climbing. this is a great all around skid that climbs well and boons well. is it the king at both areas. probably not, but it is probably one of the best all around setups there is.

so your installing an m-10 for 3000 canadian dollars?? sign me up. last I checked your going to spend 2500 to 3000 canadian just for the skid(including all costs), if you want this setup to work right your going to need m-10 mounting brackets and quite possibly some new drop down brackets and I imagine your time is worth something. helluva a deal your doing their. Especially with this wicked exchange rate.

Like NM said, picture says it all. if you can't look at the picture and know that it works, it aint' gonna be for you. spoon, I kinda shake my head that your a dealer and not trying one of these out to sell to your customers. your putting out some pretty premium units there, why not have different skid options??

Ahhhhh what the hell would you know noob  you pansy :)

$2k seems a little steep for some machined brackets, rear arm, and a crappy QA1 shock. Those parts probaby cost them about $300. For that price at least put on a good shock like a fox zero pro, Zbroz, Ohlins, Penske, etc.

An air shock would be a nice option for those looking for lightweight boondocking skids not a skid just for climbing chutes.

Also are they any real geometry differences between this rear scissor setup, kmod, fabcraft, timbersled, m10? Or is it just everyone putting their own spin on making a different style scissor?

I'd put their shock up against any one of the ones you mentioned. great shock.

Nate, you little redneck sum of a biotch. you still turbo'd, or did I read that you got rid of the tit sled??

:D Noob I dont even own a sled anymore. But I own a pretty kick azz house. I heard you were dancing at the club in Northern Alberta? Hope all is well. If I were gonna do a skid it would be an M10 no doubt on a turbo application.

I've rode with 4 or 5 of them, they work awesome, I'll be putting one in my next sled, very simple and easy to tune. Best part is they can be repaired with stock parts.

Samurai, what brand of rails are those in your pics. I want to go with Bakers setup in the future on my nytro and upgrade to a 162". Found Iceage rails for $350. Is the alluminum bracket different for different rail brands. Thanks

09 Cat rails from Chunk's Motorsports in High River
ZBROZ shock from SUMMER SUCK INC.[the jersey guys]
Rear suspension from the Baker Boys at racers edge.

Yup brackets are custom for each application.
Lance will be making a RE front scissor soon. He already has designed a fast change magnetic coupler block to adjust depth of engagement.

So just to be clear..

This kit fo 2k contains:
Rear sissor
Shock
Brackets
No more no less.?

When you can hook up a complete Timber sled for around 2k with rails, wheels, scratchers, shocks, dropbrackets and so on.

First I though it contained, rails, wheels, and so on. Then I would consider it a fair price!

I have a timbersled, if Bakers compares to a m10 it will be better then the mt tamer.
