Narrowed it Down....2010 M8 Sno Pro or 2015 M8000 Sno Pro

Got it narrowed to these two sleds. The 2010 Sno Pro is 162 track with 602 miles on it. One owner, owners manual, stored inside, etc. He is asking $5k but $4500 MIGHT buy it. Cant ever tell.....he was pretty firm on $5k when I talked to him.

Next found a dealer that has a 2015 M8000 Sno Pro 153" that was a demo with 300 mi on it. Never been registered and full 2 yr warranty. They want $8399 + 2.9% sales tax....FIRM. I can finance that one at 2.9%.

Im new to the sport but have never thrown my leg over something I didnt love. Plan to also use it to get to some back country skiing access. Just dont know if I should spend the extra money on the 15 or not. Are there any inherent problems on the 2015? Thanks in advance for all yalls time. Been a big help!

Yeah I knew to stay away from the 12. Thats why I found the clean 2010 and the "new" 15. Just need some both sides of the fence discussion.

I'd go with the 2010,it's a great sled and it would be paid for.

Dont let the internet scare you away from polaris. Just an FYI, the piston issues were big problems from like 07-10, and then every year after that they improved them more and more. Very few engine problem from 13 on but some guys still think they need to replace pistons and do fix kits.

Ive owned a 12,14,16, and now 17 and ride with a bunch of polaris guys. Last guy in our group to have an engine failure was back in 06. We must just be lucky Eric

You had to go dig that up! Lol. That was before I knew better. I think the M is just a safer route. Dealer is literally less that two miles from house as well.

Easier to fit a seat for 2 on the 2010, since you are talking about ski access and not actually using it for riding fun. If you are buying a sled to sled, for sure the '15. If you are buying a sled to ski, there is no point in spending the extra money.

I would also try real hard for a '16. The suspension geometry changes are substantial. They ride noticeably better than the 14-15s.


We still have a couple low mile 2010s around. Still great machines but a little less capable than the newest machines for sure.

I wouldnt know the difference in any of em to be quite honest. The last thing I was on was a junky rental in 2010. The 2015 is the newest im willing to purchase being a total newb at this. This is why Im still keeping the 2010 as a viable option. Im sure its WAY more capable than I am. My logic is if im spending $5k on the 10 then 3500 more to get a new machine might be better......in the long run.

Of course this is just a no brainer for me. The Axys is IMO the finest mtn sled you can buy 8 grand is a STEAL, even if you have to drive halfway across the country.
